For my class, I am researching how people solve problems with their communities. I felt that this would be a good place to ask because of the interesting community, both in forums and in game, and because I see problems that arise sometimes. I would appreciate it if you took the time to answer these questions. I may ask some follow-up questions in response to particular posts, feel free to answer those as well.

1. How long have you known about transformice? What is the name of your tribe? And how long have you been a member of your current tribe, if applicable?

2. Do you feel that there are any problems with your tribe? With the transformice community? If so, what are these problems, and how could these problems be solved?

3. What role do you play within the transformice community? If you are in a tribe, what role do you play within your tribe? What role does transformice play in your life?

~1. I joined the game in August 2010 so it will be 3 years soon. / I am a Crossing Borders tribe member and I joined in January or February, not exactly sure now. Either way, around 5 months.

~2. I think CB is an amazing tribe, I'd say there are almost no problems. The community is a different story, I'd be happy if everyone was nicer to each other and if people respected the staff a bit more. There are some wonderful people in the game but so many players are full of hatred and cause drama :/

~3. Well, I've been a Cheeseformice staff member for over two years (currently an admin) so I work with some TFM users in there. I'm also a Helper Leader and Hunteress in my tribe and I enjoy doing this kind of stuff. I used to be addicted to transformice but now it's where I talk to my tribe mates, since most of my friends already left.

~4. I am not exactly sure what you mean by 'projects' but I am going to assume something like 'let's teach newbies' or 'let's make the community better'? Hm, I was asked to join some but I believe I was a part of Tutors only that I left after some time and it died afterwards.

1. I joined in the June of 2011, so about 2 years now. I recently joined a friends tribe called 'Deep Fried', and I've been a member for about two weeks now. My previous tribe was called Narbia, but the two main leaders had a fight and the tribe split into two. Thats why Deep Fried was formed.

2. Not really. We have fun together, mess about, etc. With the current TFM community? There is plenty of problems. Users are constantly fighting, screaming insults like noob and lixo when they didn't get a first, or when something happened that a shaman couldn't control. To be honest I don't think they can be solved, the old community moved on; now we're stuck with the 11 year olds who need anger management.

3. I don't play any role within the community. I play for fun, and play with friends. Simple as that. I'm currently a Tribe Shaman in my current tribe, as I was a leader in the previous one prior to the split. Transformice currently plays such a role in my life where I play everyday for hours on end, I sometimes stay up till 1-3 am just to see some of my friends from the US.

4. I haven't worked on any projects myself within Transformice, but I did help my friend with some TFMMV's of hers.

1) Since 2011 but I only started playing in early 2012, so 2 years. My tribe is called I Rawr You and I`m a member for 8 months now

2) No real issues at all with my tribe. The community is getting ruder and this is game is becoming an obsession for stats more than a plain 'game'.

3) I like to help unknowing people, that`s why I became a helper. I`ve translated a few topics for my community(RO), like the forum rules

1. i knew transformice ever since 10/15/11, or something alone those lines. so about a year-ish. my alt is probably a year now, too
my tribe for my main? i'd like to keep that a secret. maybe for about a month or twom our tribemates migrated to a new one. my alt? as soon as i joined tfm on the alt, so maybe a year.

2) no issues for any of my tribes (well, exept for my main being inactive otl). tfm community? hackers, scammers, >NO NEW CONTENT<. hell, most of the game is encoroging hacking and statwh0res.
tfm community? cant be helped. hopefully they will add some new content that will actually be FUN and relevent.

3) role? hell, i dont even know. im just a regular person that goes on the forums and is on them for 24/7. even though im not fond of tfm anymore, it will always have a place in my heart because its where i got most of my friends, and even my boyfriend aswell. specially the forums, its where it all started.

4) projects? nah. besides, if i really had onem all i'd do is procrastinate until the world ends.

1. I joined TFM back in 2010, but I've switched from tribes on and off. My original tribe was Ballistic Elite, and I really liked them, but I think the leader got hacked and the tribe disbanded. After that I'd get invited to tribes and leave shortly because either no active members or just rude memebers.
My current tribe is the best, though<3.

2. Well, besides some drama (though drama happens everywhere and eventually passes), I don't believe I have any problems with my tribe. The community is a different story, though. I don't really like many people on TFM these days. In fact, I've stopped really getting on the game because people are just jerkasses, constantly insulting one another, accusing people of things, or speaking different languages.

3. I'm just a forumer I guess, if that counts. I'm the leader of my tribe and best friend to all of my members (we're a small tribe).

4. Hmmm, I don't remember being involved in any projects or anything, so no.

1. 2 1/2 years. The name of my tribe is Ako Budoy. I don't remember, but I can say over a year.

2. Yes, It's dead and abandoned but I don't plan on changing tribes ^_^. Yes. it seems to be dying, and the staff is doing anything they can to keep it alive. is there a solution to that? I don't think so.

3. Map maker. The guy who wouldn't want to change tribes ^^. It's the game that I play when I'm not doing anything and I want to play with other people.

1. Been on Transformice for about 3 years, not exactly there yet. My current tribe is Crey and I've been there for a couple months.

2. In-Tribe problems I'm not going to speak of, that's for me and the leaders to solve. The community is fairly rude and I don't see it getting any better, but worse every year. Do I feel like it can improve? Kind of.

The way I would have solved the problem with the community would have been to make a private and invite the more decent part of the community.

3. I don't really play a role, yet. I do plan to though eventually if it ever happens, but doubtful. Tribe isn't really worth mentioning. Transformice is my life sometimes. The game is great and I can't wait to see what changes. Also bouboum <3

4. Do tribes count? I guess the draw your fur contest and maybe a few in-forum contests. Was in MAT (Map Assitance Team).

1. I've known of Transformice back in 2010 of probably September or around that time, but I only joined a few months later(same year). The name of the tribe I'm currently in is called "Kuby". I've been a part of it when it was first made, which was about a few months ago or less.

2. No, not that I know of, anyway. However, with the Transformice community, from what I've witnessed, people are constantly being rude and bashing each other for the smallest of mistakes.

3. I play no special role or anything, I'm just that random who likes drawing Transformice fanart for people and etc. The tribe I'm in is usually quiet. There aren't any real "friends" in there, other than one of the leaders that asked me to join. So no one really plays a special or specific role because we don't even interact with each other. Transformice has always been one of my favorite games. But now with all these "improvements" and more people joining, I find it harder and harder to stick to the game because of how rude everyone has become as they became "proer".

1 - It will be three years in August. I am in a tribe called Panelagem and have been a member of it since May.

2 - There's no issues with Panelagem outside of the fact that a lot of people I knew when I first joined seem to have disappeared, and that we don't seem to bring many people in. I don't have an issue with the latter, mostly because I'm afraid new people won't understand my awful Portuguese.

3 - I am an EN Helper. If people know about Cfmbot they can whisper it "helperlist" and find me. I also help answer questions on the forums. My area of expertise as a helper is rules and bugs/glitches, so I help people get their game working right too.

4 - Transformice color code topic, and I redid bugs list and help maintain it with other sents.

1. Since really late June of 2010, but I joined mid-July. I'm in a tribe called Tampon and have been a member of it since roughly Feb. this year.

2. Nothing wrong with my tribe <4. Contrary to that stands the Tfm community. Many many people simply take this game too seriously, which in my opinion derived from Cfm's rank chart. Other than that I just think there are too many immature users. But implementing a kind of age standard/checking wouldn't be the right solution, I can tell you that much. On a sidenot, I think making EN2 was a step in the wrong direction, but that's just a minor thing.

3. I'm a player (didn't expect that one, huh?). In my tribe I am the leader to ensure that anybody anti-fresh, who wants to join, doesn't get in. For me Tfm is a platform to meet friends with and just relax a lil bit. (and get banned oh how much i love that garblegarblegarble)

4. In like 2010/11 I was part of some map contests and tribe wars, before they officially existed. Also 1 or 2 tournaments like bootcamp or racing.

1. I have been playing since 17/09/2010. I am in a tribe called Welcome Reality and i have been in it for around 3 months.

2. Nothing wrong with my tribe. As with the community, people have adopted a thought, where the closer your first, to your cheese, the better. This has ruined the game in my opinion. I think they must be banned. Imo, stadpadding should be a bannable offence.

3. In the commmunity, I am a friendly face (thought not always) to friends. I will explain features to new mice, so they can enjoy this game, as much as me, before all this statpadding came in.

4. I translated many/all TR bootcamp titles with the help of Vanlu. I feel that the TR community is very happy with these changes (I think ;;)

I learned about transformice on June 21, 2010. My Tribe's name is Crossing Borders. It's been created on May 15, 2012 and since I'm the spiritual chief, I've been there since.

Our tribe's well organized and as such I don't see any major problems at this moment. If there were I'd probably hear about it. No huge problems with the transformice community, although I do feel like the EN community is shrinking and the average player is getting younger. However, this might also be me getting older, losing friends from the 'good old days'.

My role is marginal at most. I'm an active forumer and ex staff member for a year and two days at the time of writing. I like to discuss things with anyone involved on transformice, from brand new players to the admins. I'm equally active on the NL and EN community, by the way. However, I feel more attached to the EN community as the NL one is really small. As for the tribe.. I'm one of the leaders and as such I try to keep in touch with everyone in the tribe, as well as to try and get everyone involved with tribe matters like recruitment etc. As for the game's role in my life.. it's been diminished. I still check every day and log in multiple times a week. There were days where I'd play for 6-7 hours a day. But that's years ago already.

I'm an ex-staff member with a love for discussing and interviewing/recruiting people. I've been a mod, sentinel and map crew member and helped organize map crew applications in the early days, as well as helping out with the first NL mod applications.

As for recently.. I did all the banners on the NL stickies.

1. I've known about Transformice since July 2010, but didn't start playing on my own account til November 2010. The Diamond Micehood, been in it for about maybe 4 or 5 months. I was in my previous tribe for about 15 months til it turned to shit.

2. I do not have any problems with my tribe. I feel if players are just more annoying now and way too much drama nowadays
