[Gameplay] Spectators

Idea: Similar to other multiplayer games, the ability to be a spectator (instead of a player) -- you'd be able to watch some of your favorite players (friends, tribemates, good shams, trolls, cornerjumpers, etc) or just take a break without affecting the gameplay (so you're not an afk mouse) or mouse count.

This may have been mentioned before, but I scanned through the suggestion list and did not see it (sorry if I missed it, just delete this if that's the case).

If you want to spectate, just /mort every time you can. Your impact on the gameplay is small. Mouse count only matters for lag (a little)/and determining if players can be first.

The point is you wouldn't have to do anything as a spectator. And you wouldn't want spectators affecting the mouse count in a room. It's like being an audience member instead of being a player who suicides.

So how would this work exactly? I don't see a picture on the top of my head.

This suggestion would be so booring , we have this COMMAND CALLED /watch , For me it's the same job as a spectator .

That's like dying and watching the people play.. Plus, /watch is helpful aswell..

I like this suggestion, only because sometimes I don't really want to play, I just want to watch

and the mouse count affection thing i don't really agree with, i'd still like to help mice get firsts by being in the 10+ count thing.

Pretty good idea, but can't you just do ./watch Playername?

Type /spectate and your mouse gets removed from the game but you still get to watch. AFKers would get put into spectate mode automatically after a while. To escape from spectate mode, type /room or /room (whatever room you were in) or /spectate again. Or even /join.

Why should we have this?
1. Removes annoying AFKers both by spectatorising them automatically and givong them the option to type /spectate.
2. People who just want to watch the game but not play. Sometimes if I'm working on my code I'll have TFM open in the background just to chat to people I only know on there. Sometimes we just need a little burst of cute but don't actually need to be part of it.

Hence my proposal: /spectate.

A similar idea from a different thread. Personally I would enjoy this both for my own use as well as possibly replace disconnecting afk'ers.

Because if others can spectate other players, maybe the other players that are being spectated won't agree and will be either sad or angry to be kicked out of the game.
For example if I afk for a min and someone spectates me, I'd be very angry at the person.

What would it say on the friendslist? Would you just not have a room? Because you said they arent actually like, in the room, they're just watching. Would it say something like "Room: vanilla1 (watching)", so you don't go there and get confused that they aren't really there?

i rather think of spectate as more of a command where you will be not in the map but still spectate, like when you are dead in tfm but still is able to see players.
you can join in or out anytime you wish
