*In the Depths*

-Chapter 1-

“Help!” yelled Lily.

It was too late. She had fallen from a cliff. So you ask, “How did she end up falling?” Good question. It all started on a nice fall day in Mouse Academy.

“Hey” yelled Lily.

“Hey!” yelled Alexa.

As they walked in, Mrs. Cheesers, their teacher, stared at them politely. She nodded. They walked in and took their seats. A moment later after they were in a middle of writing, the announcement speaker boomed.

“HELLO AND WELCOME TO MOUSE ACADEMY! IT IS THE DAY WE CHOOSE ONE OF OUR BRAVE LITTLE WARRIORS TO A TEST.”

Everyone murmured. Lily knew it was that time of year. The year when a little mouse is chosen to find the grand star. She never had been chosen, nor did Alexa. They nodded at each other.

Lily whispered, ” I can’t believe it’s happening. Oh my gosh.”
"Welcome to the Grand Stars Ceremony!", said Principle Mince.

Everybody stared at how beautiful the decorations were. Lily froze. There was a picture of her great grandfather. A cold chill went down her spine. She remembered him being in a hospital when she was 5. He was one of the greatest mice who stood brave and tall to get the grand star. The grand star meant everything to mousekind. Without it, food would be scarce, water will be polluted, and worst of all the shamans of mousekind would turn evil. Alexa's mind was on a different memory. She remembered when Lily was really upset about her great grandfather. All she did was stood there and stared.

Flags waved as Lily sat. Pinciple Mince was handing out pieces of cheese to snack on. The chosen one will be able to hold one of greatest moments of all time. It was time. Principle Mince stared at Lily. He nodded. Lily spread tears on her face. She never wanted to chosen after all what happened to her great-grandfather. Once a mouse is chosen, he/she will have to bring a partner. Lily chose Alexa. Alexa stared at her as if she was crazy.

"Are you out of your mind!?", whispered Alexa.

After a while, she agreed. It is time to begin their journey.

for this part:

I think it would sound better if the when was changed to a that, unless I read it wrong but..
