Alright guys, this thread is for discussion on the use of cactus ground. Cactus ground simply sends mice to 0,0, and if defilante is on you can use that to move 0,0 to off-screen, killing the mice. (Thanks to Fxie and Impuredeath for helping me figure things out.) Viprin's editor can then be used to stylize them to look like a cactus.

Alright guys, let's see any cactus maps you can come up with! I'll also be taking requests if you'd like me to add cactus blocks to your map. Simply place lava where you'd want a cactus block to be, and if I like the map I'll add it in for you.

Let's not forget that you can also use defilante without scrolling. If you just put a skull on 0,0 that should do the job as well. I might try making something later today as a sign of support for the idea ;-)

Also, it might be nice for this project to have some set style rules for cactus grounds? How much of an opacity for the green color, for example?

I tried placing a skull there, it doesnt work, putting lava also doesnt work, so i think that the best would be 99e99 if you want to kill the mice instantly.

That wouldn't work without the scrolling since the mice spawn is always 0,0 when the map loads, so they'd die instantly. The scroll changes the spawn so they can spawn safely but die afterwards.

As for the style rules, I don't really think that's necessary. They look good with a lot of different colors.

Nice map, but you're missing cloud ground behind the cactus. This will allow you to build over it, an important function of cactus ground.

See it as me unticking the "collision with grounds" setting in the map editor ^^ And like this it was easier to build a small mech I wanted in there.

Not with the current way they work, but if they were implemented into the game it could be done with the click of a button.

Um i found out this weird thing, i like it tho it's funny.
So whenn me and my 3 friends all jumped on dat cactus. we started spam dying, Like EVERY SECOND we died and revived died and revived with a spam of bubbles/
Only way not to die in the cactus: On utility mode in the tribe house, do !vampire all
Then do !cheese all -as a vampire- slowly land on the top of the cactus and you can go INSIDE OF IT.

LAWL! Kool Glitch! I dunno why it makes you spam die in the Tribe House. Anyways, I'll try that!
