You know it's fairly rude to burst into a thread acting like that. If you don't have anything to say to add to the discussion value then don't at all.

I mainly just sit quietly or whisper a friend blowing off some steam, it can get pretty annoying when it seems the entire game is against you.

I don't do anything if I lose a first, I just keep this in my head:
"Firsts, are just numbers, they don't prove how fast or pro you are, if you get them, great, if you don't get them, that's great, too."

I like how you post in this thread just to talk condescendingly about getting firsts. By your logic, everything would be just a collection of atoms and molecules. What's the point of getting any achievement at all?

Yes, we all know it's a collection of pixels on screen. But the Ancient Greeks fought in the first Olympic Games over the right to have some leaves placed on their heads. The reason people fight for the pixelated numbers is the significance that it represents in terms of one's skill and the distinction of being "the best".

Yes, this is not Ancient Greece, but I merely likened the award for winning firsts to the award for winning the Olympics. Pixels on your screen in themselves are not as valuable as cash or other precious items. Neither are the data in the Transformice database containing the number of cheese gathered first per player, or the laurels worn by people who on the Olympics.

However, people still compete to get firsts a passion because of the sense of accomplishment it gives them. As I mentioned before, the pixels on screen represent a measure of skill and a distinction of being the best. The essence of that statement is that players interpret the pixels on screen as a measure of skill, and the figure displayed is an affirmation of their in-game abilities. I don't mean to say that it makes them literally "the best" or anything. In fact, you'd have to be either something of an idiot or not reading my post at all to think that I mean it that way.

Next time, maybe think twice before using bad arguments like that just to cover your own condescending post.

c: Always feels good when you get that achievement. Pixels are pixels but it is still fun to get that achivment of being faster/luck/skills.

Also when I lose my first. I just look at the hole saying, "oh you know that was mine" then say GJ to the mouse who got it or if not I just continue on the game ( I get more upset when I die due to my dumb actions, most of the time)
