~Dedicated to the game Transformice, which I have loved ever since the moment I joined.~

Chapter 1 (Prologue)

Dull. That was the only word that described the large office in France. A blur of black ties and grey skirts weaved their way through a cramped hallway, nothing heard but the clink of shoes hitting the ground. No talking, no laughing. There was not much of anything. Although, there was a small spark of hope that was in the heart of an office room. People called her Meli; a bubbly young woman who was recently employed there. Many people discouraged her attitude, calling her "immature", and sometimes just "too upbeat". She didn't care, though. Upon leaving, she always had a smile on her face, no matter how bleak her workplace was. This particular day, though, was the day she'd make something that would give people a smile like she left the office with every day.

There will be TRANSFORMICE related things in the 1st chapter, so get ready! Hope you enjoyed, more will be coming your way. Also, I accept critique, so drop some off if you want! :>

Thanks.

Chapter 1 is here! :>

Beams of pale sunlight shone through the door, Meli's figure emerging from it. She yanked the key out of the doorknob, and heaved out a frustrated sigh. "Today was just like all the others.." Said an exhausted Meli. She wished she had never volunteered to be employed into the office. Just as the buzz of papers getting shredded rang through her mind, a brief sound of the doorbell interrupted it. Eyes widening, she hurried to the door, turning the rounded knob attached to her door. As she cracked it open, her spirit fell flat. Just the pizza she ordered while driving back home. She paid the man, and grabbed the thin box out of his hands. She opened it, the strong scent of tomatoes filling the air. She had picked up that scent way too much, almost making it seem unappetizing. She'd normally eat it quickly, but today, she simply consumed it in small, infrequent bites. She disn't know what she'd do for the remainder of this boring Monday; the day began normally, so it should end that way. She wiped her hands off with a napkin, and stopped. The vision of a bright yellow pencil came into her vision, and she picked it up. "...Maybe I could just doodle to pass the time.." She grumbled, pushing a peice of white paper over to her. Meli began to sketch, scribbling out each one that seemed strange or had a mistake. She carefully dashed the pencil across the paper stopping as a line was put out of place. "Just another failed sketch.." She was about to cross it out, until she heard a voice that sounded through the house.

"Please, s-stop!"

Just a small critique but overusing 'she' is dull. Use Meli, 'the woman', or 'the artist' or even try to avoid it.

Read, every sentence has 'she' as the first word. That is really getting old.

Oh, geez. I'll have to fix that in upcoming chapters.

CHAPTER 2

The voice rang through Meli's head, making her shake her head in worry. Was there something in her house? A human, perhaps? It must of been a figment of her imagination. Meli looked down at her paper.
She dropped her pencil.
"...He-ey! My drawing..!" Meli gasped, as her paper began to give off a vibrant, but faint glow. It got brighter until it was too much for her eyes. She backed up quickly, hitting the wall behind her. The outline of the mouse began to shine brightest, as it gave an evil glare. Eyes glowing red, a fast beam of light shot at her. It burned, feeling like it was searing her skin; alas, she was unharmed. Something clicked. That voice came from the sketch of a mouse she was about to cross out, and it must of gave her a false sense of security when it pleaded out helplessly. Before she could think about it anymore, the young woman passed out.
