Hey, I really love Minimalist mode, I'm a huge fan of minimalistic art and the lack of textures really appeals to me. I would use the mode exclusively, except some maps that use grounds as actual backgrounds (like, with a Stone as a ground that mice can pass through), the map just turns into a solid standard blank ground where you don't know what's a walkable surface and what isn't. It would be nice if the Rectangle/Circle grounds could have a very, very simple highlight or shadow somewhere to make it more identifiable where the edges to the ground are.
