First of all, this isn't a proposition for the admin team to add, remove or change anything within the game. It's just something I want to throw to the community for something I've thought of.

There was a thread made for picking the most popular skill, and another made for the least popular. While this is nice for identifying whether people agree with you on the "best" or "worst" skill, it may not necessarily reflect the players' opinions on the usefulness of the items in relative to each other.

To address that, I plan to create a 5-point rating system of all the shaman skills. Basically, all the skills will be rated from 0.00 to 5.00 based on how useful they are. But I know my opinions alone will not yield the optimum ratings for the skills.

This is where you come in, o community!

I will get YOU to help me rate all the skills. To do that, I will send a you a form to fill in. After that, I will collate the results, and calculate the overall rating of said skills.

I understand that the opinion of a level 10 shaman may not have the same value as that of a level 100 shaman. I also understand that the opinion of those who farmed to get levels will differ from those who played in big rooms with lesser-skilled players.

As such, I will run the data through a calculation matrix to weigh in the value of the player's opinions. The underlying assumption here is that players' credibility is directly proportional to their level and stats. We cannot measure qualitative considerations, so we opted to ignore this.

The formula I currently have to compute your opinion value is:
[shaman level]^2.5 + shaman saves * [shaman saves + hard mode saves] / cheese gathered

I opted to square the shaman level in order to make it more valuable relative to someone's saves. Also, this will add weight to shamans with higher levels. Without squaring, it takes only two level 50 shamans to have the same opinion value as a level 100 shaman; whereas with squaring, it takes four level 50 to have the same opinion value as a level 100 shaman. This aligns the points to weigh more for those who probably have had more experience using different skills, having higher levels.

I multiplied the shaman saves by the ratio of total saves to total cheese gathered because I assume that people who rely on shaman saves to get their EXP would naturally have a better idea of which items to use.

For a level 50 shaman with 40,000 saves, 15,000 hard mode saves, and 20,000 cheese:
=50^2 + 40,000 * [40,000 + 15,000] / 20,000
=17,678 + 40,000 * 55,000 / 20,000
=17,678 + 110,000
=127,678

For a level 80 racing room pro with 12,000 saves, 3000 hard mode saves and 40,000 cheese:
=80^2 + 12,000 * [12,000 + 3000] /40,000
=57,243 + 12,000 * 15,000 / 40,000
=57,243 + 4,500
=61,743

(Note: formula is still subject to reconsideration)

Even though the racing room pro is of a higher level, he doesn't quite rely on his shamaning at all, which would make his opinion rather useless to someone who has thrice the number of saves as he does, even though he is of a higher level.

At this point it can be inferred that the bigger weight will be given to the opinion of those people who rely on their shamaning to earn EXP. And from them, the one with the higher level would have the more valuable opinion. Makes sense?

To get the best result, I would need to get quite a lot of samples. So I'm opening THIS THREAD for people who are interested to partake in my little endeavor. If you're interested, just mention so on this thread. If selected, you will be informed in-game by me or one of a representative from Spring Transformice Farmers' Union.

Again, intersted people just need to inform me, on this thread, that they're interested.
