Maybe it's not realing passing in the game, but why not change your text color ? So you now:

friend 1 = orange
friend 2 : green

etc...

I now this is bad because if you have like 100 friends in one room ...

I don't see how this will be helpful, or might be, either way I'm half supporting it.

Some people may be sensitive to bright colors and cannot see the light due to their eyes' sensitivity.
I have this, but only the background of my eyes' sideview turns dark. And it irritates my eyes.
