"Atelier" Steam Launcher |

Hello, Mice (and Hamsters)! This is Artakha, a fairly old mouse and kongregate member. Ever since the microtransactions came into play, I always felt that there could be more methods than just paypal or zong. Now that there's going to be two games, I feel like there's another potential market to enter: the Steam market. For those unaware, Steam is a digital distribution and digital rights management (drm) system that allows users to purchase and play games as well as chat with friends, manage screenshots, and be in groups. Sounds quite similar to the friendlist on TFM isn't it? Now then, there's another aspect of Steam that the folks at Atelier 801 can make use of: Steam Wallet. By logging into an "Atelier Games" launcher through steam rather than a basic .exe (like Tigrounette's standalone) the game could automatically link itself to the user's Steam Wallet. Allowing for quick and easy purchases of Fraises. Maybe it might be some work, but in the long run, it can help out for those who don't trust paypal or are unable to use Zong. |

you did it I'm proud. Even though I don't use Steam as much as I should, it'd be pretty awesome, and I really don't see why you WOULDN'T support this. :P If you don't use Steam, it hurts nothing. If you do, it only helps. a dit : |

Give me one reason why you wouldn't. WIll it affect your gameplay? Nope. Will it cause any issues for other users? Nope. |

I think once they have their other big name game out (celu or whatever) it'd be good to bring it to steam if I understand that game's concept right at that point I think the benifits will outweigh the risks though currently I think tfm alone wouldn't do well with steam otherwise support \o |

Haruhitastic a dit : Seems like it would negatively affect the devs' wallets. Although I do agree with having other payment options, I think it's better that they stay independent. |

Well this isn't a DO IT RIGHT NOW sort of idea however. This is just for the future when they have capital behind them. |

Like I said, it is an "atelier" steam launcher. Like you log into it, then you pick your game. then you play. Plus, there's a possible untapped playerbase within steam. |

Putting the game on steam will force them to remove all other payment methods. This is why Minecraft is not on steam because it limits what they can do and what they can sell. |

There is many things steam could add New players New tribes because steam friends More mature community Easier ways to get fraises Possibly achievements Bad things that steam will cause: Taking a cut of the fraises money Pros outweigh the cons here. /support Jaackster a dit : Look at realm of the mad god. I believe you can buy the gold in other ways then steam |

/support I'm also a steam member and I think this would be a great idea so more players can join. Although, I'm not really sure if there should be achievements, as titles in Transformice are 'achievements' aren't they? |

Steam achievements probbably wouldn't be possible for this game anyway... Although steam trading cards for this game would be cool. |

Xxninjazxx a dit : >Give out trading cards >Sell trading cards >Get Fraises. About all they are useful for. |

Jaackster a dit : It wouldn't force them to remove their payment methods. They'll just have to have only Steam Wallet for the steam version of the game. I've seen one game, Realm of the Mad God, on both Steam and Kongregate. On Kong, it uses Kreds for its microtranastions. On Steam, it uses the Steam Wallet. Besides, It can be a basic launcher much like the Sega Genesis/Megadrive collection thing where it's one game that contains more. |

This has to go through the steam greenlight, but with our community, it would be like a 75% chance it will be lighted. /Support! |

Once there a thread about greenlighting transformice. The admins said they didn't really want to join with steam because reasons I don't remember. (it never worked btw) Although, if someone told the BR community about greenlighting it we would probbably win. |

Perhaps I could ask sometime. Otherwise, if there's a reason that the admins have that will make em not want to be on steam, fine by me. |

this is literally exactly what i was thinking of omg i said this in a thread by lemodile quite a while ago and i like your idea :P
when they originally mentioned the community platform, i thought that they would just make some website or standalone or something where you log in and choose which game you want to play (between boumboum, celuoso, transformice, etc), and then when you log into a game your friends would be notified that you're online and which game you're playing kinda like steam but not really? idk i don't think that we need separate notifications either because it's just repetitive and kinda useless since tfm is the only game right now anyway so yes I agree with what you're saying what you propose is much cleaner and better
|
