heya everyone :D recently i been playing a lot in the vanilla rooms and everytime i go in. there is always two people favoing each other when it comes to them being sham.

now i remember when you could bann for any reason. heck i got banned once last year for making an invisible plank and everyone rushed to their deaths.
i can understand how many people abuse this system. but maybe they need to add "Favo" as one of the banning reasons?

what do you think? should favo have it's own tag to bann people for.
i think it should as it's getting out of hand. i was in vanilla 10 about 5 days ago and there where these people favoing for hours. everyone was banning but nothing was happening. if firsts are suppost to be, because you got first. and not because someone gave you it. surely the admins should do something about this?

You can use votekick but you can't have a moderator ban them. "Trolling is part of the game if the shaman or mice choose to do so."

If its a big problem people would just voteban them out of the room. But usually its not a big loss and not many people care. You shouldnt be that focused on stats anway. Its a game.

Pretty sure he means votebanning guys, unless a mod banned him for this lol:

I get this line of thinking, and I agree with it. But not in this situation. We're playing a 'racing' game of who can get to the hole first. Thats why the first stat even exists. I enjoy racing and getting first, I don't enjoy sitting there as the sham favos a friend and then not having any drive to actually hurry. Raging and screaming at someone and making death threats is one thing but just votebanning them, and asking the room to do so as well like once, is hardly an extreme reaction.

That being said I always ban if the first goes into the hole, but not the first and just the sham. Sometimes it works and sometimes nothing is done because they're friends with most people in the room. However if it is so fustrating you can simply go into another room. It sucks being forced out but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

People actually ban people for favoing, you just have to find a group of people that are easily pissed off because of it. I don't agree with this because, as mentioned, trolling is part of the game, so you don't have to ban someone for something "that is wrong". Also, you can go to another room, like traveling mentioned above, or go to racing, where you can race with other players without needing a shaman

The thing is, I honestly believe that there are a lot of people that do get annoyed enough by favoritism to want the culprits out of the room, but simply are unaware of the fact that they're capable of making this wish a reality. In short: a lot of people are unaware of the /ban command. This makes sense because telling others to use /ban pretty much is bannable in itself and frankly I wouldn't really believe /ban is a real command either until I've been told about it like 10 times.

Having said that, I /ban anyone displaying obvious and deliberate favoritism.

It depends on the server you are on. I once favoured in turkey server and got immediately banned the round after my turn. I went to the next room and the same thing happened to me.

On other servers like china, most people don't care as much and favouring rarely results in ban.

Another misconception many people have is that favouring is very easy and boring. This is very very untrue. Favouring can be a very advanced skill. It's hard for me to explain it all here.

I don't agree with having them banned for it, but a room kick is sufficient. Back when I started playing, if enough people typed the /ban command, it would literally ban a player for 1 hour saying: "(Player name) was banned for 1 hour. Reason: Vote populaire" But I think it was unfair to some people, and very abusable.

Corruption in China is serious in many way such as business and govenment scope,no matter where it is corruption exists in China. When it comes into a game, favoritism is the form of such nature.

Favoritism damage public's benefit to earn stat for self which is selfish
They are not even playing a game, they are just keeping friendship. If you want to do this,go to a private room and do whatever you want, because it's not public, nobody cares what you did there.

In a minigame-survivor,shaman is supposed to kill everyone in the room. You can see ppl in China are not killing usually as they have a lot of favorite friends. As a result no cannons but a lot of balloons to save their friend.I will never understand why they come survivor when they don't want to be killed and ask sham for favo.So is survivor a survivor? No,it's called ballooner.

Not even in China,I encountered this problem in En too.Personally such favoritism depressed me,and I lost my passion.I can ever enjoy the game like the past moment.I play less now.

Adding on to that, actually doing the favoritism (and winning because of it) can be tons of fun, especially when you can communicate directly or over skype or whatever.

to all saying that "trolling is part of the game", it does not mean that we cant or shouldnt ban the trolls/favoers, it means we shouldn't ask a mod to ban them (report) because voteban and mod banning are two different things and i still see tons of people thinking they're the same...

votebanning needs 5 mice to ban, and it kicks the mouse out of the room for one hour. and only that one room. pretty sure we can ban anyone for any reason

mods ban from the whole game for idk how long, propably depends on what they were banned for and i think it needs 10 votes

As long as someone is bothering the room, you can ban him. No matter what the reason is.

I once saw a war on PL against two teams of some mice. One team was "good", the other was the trolls "bad" team.

The good team lost.
Well, I'll say that it was quite interesting.

howcome when multiple people have banned one person. they still don't get kicked? i seen this happen before, unless the people who said they banned where lying.

but i don't want these people to be banned perminantly, just kicked from the room would be enough.
saying that trolling is part of the game i can understand, but giving someone a first every round, is like cheating. it eliminates the competition, and there might as well not even be a reward for getting first.

Lemodile a dit :
Adding on to that, actually doing the favoritism (and winning because of it) can be tons of fun, especially when you can communicate directly or over skype or whatever.

And i'm sure it can be fun, for you and the person your giving that first to. not only are you being unfair to everyone else, but the person your giving first to, isn't earning them themselves. so pretty much all their first status is irrelivant and downgraded if your just giving it to them.

like people have said on here already, i don't think perminant bann is good for favoing. but a room kick, for an hour would be enough, just to make them learn their lesson. favoers have been saying lateley that they can't get banned, and favo isn't a reason to bann anymore. so they just think they can do what they want, and some have even said if i'm not going to get banned i'm going to keep doing it.

i can easliy brush favo off, but when a sham is spending half of the time trying to baloon someone, and killing all the other mice they don't want to get first it can be very annoying, and in the end normaly ends up with no one getting cheese at all.

i wish there was some way of banning their sham turn instead of kicking them, it would be much easier.

I think, if there were many, many favos, the best thing would be to leave the room. If voteban doesn't work, of course. After all, trolling IS a part of the game. Though, to be honest, favouritism doesn't really count as "trolling". I would see trolling more as a box with a b plank in front of the hole, or seas of cannons released towards the mice. ( I once saw a hacker on survivor with a very literal SEA of cannons.)

Should favouritism not be a method of trolling, I suppose simple votebanning would not be sufficent. After all, trolling is simply for some fun that is not unfair in that all mice are trolled equally. No one (except maybe someone who glitched through planks or just got to the hole fast enough) gets cheese. In that sense trolling is fair. Favouritism is not fair in any way. Perhaps it could be added to the report list, only to be put in the lowest priority compared to worse offenses like racism and hacking.
