A new addition has been added to the menu, a chance to earn cheese for referring players! What is your opinion on this? Do you think it violates Atelier's previous "no free cheese" rules? Do you think the ability to gain 1 cheese for every 10 gathered by the reffered player could get out of hand?

Yes it can. I can easily just make thousands of alts and earn free cheese(will test this to be sure). Also I don't think you need to earn cheese just for telling someone about the game/

Obviously the answer to both of those questions are yes.

While most people would celebrate that free cheese has been added, I am highly disappointed.
There are dozens of ways this can be abused.

The point of the game was to get cheese and go to the hole. That's what made it challenging. That's what made the game worth playing. Now with this referral stuff, you can just sit down and ask a bunch of random people to sign up, get cheese, then forget about it.

This isn't my favorite update, but I guess we just have to deal with it.

It's not like they'll listen to our opinions anyway. Hmph.

If you create an account on your own. So you don't have to worry about people making fake accounts to get cheese. But it will sure create a lot of spam

Probably goes by IP.

They block that ability by blocking IP Addresses. If the account has the same IP Address as your main, the cheese won't be able to be transferred.

But if you and someone else were to do it, then yes it's possible.

That wouldn't make sense though. If you want cheese, you and the other person should just farm in an empty room.

Every 10 cheese means 1 cheese for the referring person. Capiche?

technically lol wouldnt it be faster to earn cheese by themselves...

The same has always been true with bans, where sibling in the same household are also essentially banned due to sharing an IP.

I've tested it with an alt I made, Midniteskies, I made it today, so..
Snoweybuddy told me about this, and I decided to test it out.
I logged into both my main and my alt, my main was in the tribe house, while I played with my alt.
Turns out when the reffered gets 10 cheese, you get 1 cheese.
It kinda breaks the 'no free cheese' rule, but okay.
