Say we were talking about candy... Let's assume there is only one thread that discusses candy. Wouldn't it be much easier if we could seperate discussions within the thread so for example we could discuss 'the best candy' topic in a seperate thread from 'the worst candy' topic?

If you wanted to talk about Snickers with your buddy and another person would like to discuss Skittles it would be convienient to have seperate threads?

Now it's almost like whispering the same thing to a whole bunch of people...
Whereas if you included a feature that allows you to have a thread within a thread, only the people you want to have read the post will read the post.

Yes, I understand. But no, I don't quite see how it could be that useful.. If the thread was going to be about candy in general, I don't think you need to have two seperate threads within that thread discussing the worst and best candy. That way those two threads become pretty one-sided, which is exactly what the thread itself wasn't meant to be.
