So I was staying up late once, feeling a bit tired about TFM and wondering why that is. It's a great game, but people get tired of it soon.

Then I figured, perhaps, it lacks goals, purpose or maybe plot and stuff to keep the mice playing. A direction to an achievement which mice would struggle to achieve. That's when an idea came to mind: CAMPAIGNS!

Here's my idea and I'll try to maintain as much sense and coherence as possible. (If anyone would be so kind to arrange this for me later if it proves confusing)

----------
How it would work:

There are missions which would be called CAMPAIGNS that should have at least 10 stages (maps) and at least 20 participating mice.

But first, there should be a waiting room. In this room mice would wait to have at least 20 "ready" mice to start a campaign. To ready, they would type the command /ready and their label or number would turn green to indicate that they're ready. Why label or numbers instead of names? Here's my idea: the mice in the waiting rooms should be naked and nameless so as to avoid discrimination amongst "noobs" and "pros".

To start a campaign, all mice in the waiting room should be ready. As already mentioned, there should be at least 20 mice ... but this number can be exceeded by having at least one not-ready mouse to allow more mice to enter. A campaign shouldn't start unless all mice in the room are ready. In case of an AFK mouse, there should be a /kick [insertnumberhere] command that will kick an AFK mouse with 10 kick-votes.

So a campaign course has at least 10 stages. Mice must clear a stage to proceed to the next one before the timer runs out by reaching the "checkpoint" for that stage. Every time a mouse goes to the checkpoint, 5 or 20 seconds are added to the timer to allow the remaining mice more time to enter. The timer should be initially set to maybe 5-10 minutes. That should depend upon the difficulty of the stage.

Campaign stages should usually have shamans to help guide the mice safely around the enemies.

Besides the usual map obstacles, campaigns would have "enemies" (rat, cat, mouse traps, poison cheese) that would kill every mouse they touch! They could be moving on a pattern or just fixed. They can be touched by sham objects (even invi) but they cannot be killed by cannons. The only way to get rid of them is driving them down a cliff. If a cliff is not present, the mice will just have to go around it with the aid of the sham. Shams should be careful in cannoning the enemies for they might rebound off a wall and kill all the mice in immediate contact!

In campaigns, you cannot respawn after dying (so proceed with caution!) (or maybe mice should have 3 lives for the entire campaign?). In failing a campaign, you would be redirected to a normal room but not until AFTER a stage, so a shaman can have a chance to revive you using their reviving shaman skill. In case the shaman itself dies (after his/her unburstable skill is spent) another mouse should be immediately appointed as a replacement to keep the campaign going.

In the case that the timer runs out before all mice have reached the checkpoint, there must be at least 50% surviving mice to proceed. Or else the campaign would be considered a failure.

The mice should go stage by stage until they reach the last stage where the cheese and finish hole is. The last stage should be the significantly harder than the previous stages. There could be a boss, or the difficulty might just rely entirely upon the map grounds. So, of course, the surviving mice must get the cheese to the finishing hole. However, they must achieve the campaign's required cheese count to successfully complete the campaign course. If, for example, the required cheese count is 20 and there are only 10 mice left, the campaign could still be completed by either: (1) having the sham go back and forth or (2) the mice that gets to the hole will be respawned back to the starting point until the cheese count is achieved. But while the mice that get to the hole gets respawned, mice that dies 'cause of the obstacles, as before mentioned, will not be respawned unless the sham revives them.

At the last stage, campaign will be a failure if time runs out or all mice are obliterated before the require cheese count is achieved. But if the campaign was successfully completed all mice who survived to the last stage will be rewarded by 50 cheese.

----------

Ideas for titles and rewards:

Each campaign courses (there should be more than one! xD) have distinct rewards and titles.

By completing a campaign course ten times, a mouse will receive a title that is distinctive only to that campaign course.

By completing a campaign course 20 times, a mouse will receive an item that can only be obtained in that certain campaign course.

Every time a campaign is completed, there are two outstanding mice that will be labeled "Warrior" and "Champion". A warrior is the mouse that has the most cheese gathered in a campaign and a champion is the shaman that achieved the most number of saves. In rare cases that a mouse is both warrior and champion, he will be labeled as "Campaign Hero".

To get the Warrior title, a mouse must get the warrior position in any campaign courses 10 times.

To get the Legendary Warrior title, a mouse must have been labeled as warrior in any campaign courses 50 times.

To get the Champion title, a mouse must get the champion position in any campaign courses 10 times.

To get the Legendary Champion title, a mouse must have been labeled as champion in any campaign courses 50 times.

To get the Campaign Hero, a mouse must have achieved a Campaign Hero position 5 times.

To get the Immortal Campaign Hero, a mouse must have been labeled Campaign Hero 15 times.

A mouse can achieve the title "Veteran" after completing 20 campaign courses.

A mouse can achieve the title "Survivor" after completing his first campaign.

-------------
Trolling shamans:

PK-shamans must be reported as /trollsham [insertnamehere]. After receiving 10 trollsham-votes, that certain mouse's name and label will be colored orange for a week as a warning to mice who are seriously dedicated to finish a campaign.

Souris mice are not allowed to participate in a campaign.

There should also be a cheese gathered requirement before a mouse can access the campaign courses. Say, 500-1000 cheese to avoid dummy mice that PK-shams can use.

---------------
Themes and Map submissions:

Each campaign courses should have different themes! And campaign map submission should be open to all. We can have christmas-themed campaigns, minecraft-themed campaigns, MLP-themed campaigns etc. etc.

-------------

While I believe that this is a fun idea, I am aware that this might prove impossible for the admins to manage and might screw up codes and shiz. Or that the mapmakers might not pick this one up.

But in case the mapmakers and admins are interested but there's the risk of screwing up TFM, I suggest maybe make a brand new Atelier801 TFM-branch game called Transformice! Campaign where they can utilize the campaign courses without screwing up the original TFM. The accounts, mice avatars, mice cheese, mice titles and mice items should be linked! But the stats should be different. The stats in the Campaign one should have "Campaigns completed" "Number of times warriored" "Campaign courses completed: (3 out of 50)" "Number of times championed" etc. etc.

But I hope some campaign courses would prove tedious and tiring so that mice would still seek refuge in the normal TFM game-mode.

---------

Suggestions, corrections, critiques, toning-downs and reprimands are welcome.

I know this suggestion is too ambitious but well, I guess it was fun to think of.
