Has anyone else been receiving really bad ping since the update? My ping is usually 130, now normally its 1000+ without changing. I closed all background proccesses and everything else running apart from TFM ( I use standalone, ) so yeah I'm just wondering if this is happening to anyone else.

the /ping command seems to be really broken lately and has been returning complete bs instead of your usual ping

Ping is usually measured in milliseconds, so it might be in another unit. Perhaps microseconds? My ping is usually about 100ms and I'm getting 181519. 181519 us is 181ms, so it could be a change of units for more accuracy.

Looks like there is a missing decimal point my ping: 24536 = 24.536ms, changing it from milliseconds to micro wouldn't affect accuracy because they could of just stopped rounding the number.

Nope, at times my ping shows 61 so I'm pretty sure my ping isn't 0.061ms.

Well there is definitely some shit going on with that update (not like there wasn't anything before though), i actually thought the ping issues i had were fixed with the valentines update since i got my usual ping again..but the next day "ah pls can't let you have your 20-40 ping we'll add a 0 for you ty" so i was back to 200-400, today i finally tried this on another pc and oh wow i actually had 20 ping on there..with a guest account.

So i thought alright then, neat!! tested it with my account again on same pc and woops back to the usual 200-400, well if that isn't weird then idk what is...i did test it multiple times and the guest was always low while my account was always high here are the actual ping numbers i got:

Guest: [•] 41[•] 41[•] 41[•] 41[•] 41[•] 41[•] 43[•] 43[•] 43[•] 43
Account: [•] 301[•] 301[•] 301[•] 296[•] 296[•] 296[•] 296[•] 296[•] 296[•] 296

Furthermore if i do the ping command on cmd for tfm, i get an average of 40 always. So i'm really wondering whats up there (the big problem is that eventhough i have an average of 40 on cmd the 200-400 on tfm still counts since i notice the difference just from the time i actually die when touching the end of the map or the famous hole lag. So i'd like to get some clarification here.

Since nobody is answering i wonder whats up, gonna push this up with some new information doing a long term test, i logged in with a second account getting a really low ping. After that i logged out with second account and in my main, i got (what a surprise) a high ping again. So i decided to open my second acc in browser and first acc in standalone to do a long term ping test with bost versions running. See what i got:

Second Acc: [•] 34,[•] 35,[•] 41,[19:38]*, [•] 43, [19:39] [•] 47, [19:43] [•] 52, [19:44] [•] 54, [19:46] [•] 45
Main Acc: [19:35] [•] 400, [19:35] [•] 293, [19:36] [•] 302, [19:37] [•] 375, [19:38] [•] 275, [19:39] [•] 272, [19:45] [•] 272,

So there you have it.. sorry for doublepost but i really want an answer if anyone got one maybe.

*added timestamps on browser version too late, but anyway you can see its a long term test

*edit*

Someone reminded me it could be the rooms (me thinking sure being in tribehaus won't cause high ping), tried it anyway and apparently he was right!

Meaning if i am in bootcamp i get low ping, while in normal rooms/tribehaus i have high ping (it was the same for him too, i'm pretty sure it's not an issue on my side.

Think yet another bug. I tried it like 10 times in a row and it gave me the same number, which is impossible. Or at least very improbable.

The message is bugged. It shows a lot higher than your actual ping and it can do what Uglycasanova said.
What a name...lol.

It's definitely not the message that's bugged..cause you can feel the difference between a 200-400 ping and a 40-50 ping.

For the issue with the 10 times same ping.
It got changed so it only actually refreshes your ping every like 10 seconds or so, thats why it always shows the same number for a certain time.

Edit:
Nvm what i said, it doesn't matter being in normal rooms/tribehaus or bootcamp, was probably just some phase idk, im at high ping everywhere now

Well what are you defining as lag? It's about having everything happen a bit later than it should, as in going in hole and only after a while you'll actually get in (in your example 929ms/1300ms later). making mice who originally (for you) were behind you get in front of you. Anyway if you only checked your ping twice it might've spiked just at those moments, which would explain why you didn't feel laggy. For a more exact ping you should check more often, especially if it jumps from 929 to 1300 (though i'm not sure if we are having the same issue here).

Something else i should note is that no matter what room i join if i type /ping right after i get a 400 ping everytime, it then slowly goes down to 200-300.

Since those threads always seem to die off i'll be updating this with a double post, sorry.

I just found out that the bad ping is room based after all, i'm not sure how it is but it seems very random,

for example i go to /room 10 and get a 360 ping, then i go to /room 11 and get a 40 ping (i did stay in both rooms longer than just a few secs and results were the same). There were also no other mice in these rooms either. And it happens with other rooms..most rooms i get a high ping on but some do get me a low ping and i have no damn idea what's up there.

Another example in case you didn't get it:

Vanilla1 (20+ people) 30 ping
Vanilla2 (16 people) 365 ping

(and when i switch between the rooms it does stay the same, even after switching 5 times)

The 400 is normal to happen if you check ping right after you joined room, you should like wait about 10 secs before checking your ping.
