This is just my opinion and I find it helps.

Here are some simple instructions on how not to be upset when you are being trolled.

1. Don't lose your cool, if you lose your cool the troll is not going to care and she/he's going to just keep on trolling

2. Find what the troll is saying as something funny!

3. Accept what their saying such as when someone says: "You suck." agree with them! That'll throw them totally off guard.

4. If you have to argue make it a civilized smart conversation. Use big words and make inteligent statements.

5. If someone is calling you a noob be aware that either that you're not or that you are. Either of those will be enough just be sure of something.

6. Another thing is just ignore them. If you're too lazy, not that good at fights or you just don't really care ignoring is the way to go.

In terms of insulting (not excessive)
Well when you sum it up, you are mostly down to two options on how to react:
1. Ignore the user
2. Bitch out on the user and make the problem worse

1 is much easier, since it shows your indifference and they'll soon realize they are the only one that cares.

2 is easy too, because with all the anger building out, you can simply type a "F**K YOU ***!" and it just makes the troll happy because it shows that they were able to affect you.

In case of racism/cancer/rape joking etc:
1. Report the user
2. Ignore
3. (in some odd cases) Join them

1. It is mostly against the rules
2. This will not stop them from affecting others, but only you are benefited.
3. Sometimes I have seen this happen amongst friends, and it's just PLAIN wrong, but if people want to be fools on the internet, they should expect some consequences.

I don't know. Someone called a group of noobs for fun and we had a civilized fight. By the end the person apologized to me and promised to never do it again. Sometimes you have to stand up for others and yourself.

That is also true, guess I should've clarified. It doesn't necessarily "makes the problem unsolvable" it just intesifies it. Also, I guess a third option should also be added, you can also respond calmly to the trollers instead of going ASDFRAGE on them.

3. Deal with them in a civil manner

aheem i am a troll so if someone trolls me a troll showdown :P

I sometimes troll on guest accounts when I'm bored and the most common replies I get are:

"Noob guest." (some homophobic language and more insults)
"Nice guest."

It just depends on how you will handle the situation, and on your mood. I wouldn't care because the guest isn't preventing my chances are getting cheese, but when I do care about firsts, I can imagine secretly cursing the guest.

They normaly think I don't understand much english (which is right btw) and try few more times, then stop.

When I'm being trolled I ask Rooooney to stop trolling.

When someone is just being a douche and calls everyone a noob I just make everything semi-sophisticated. This way they have no idea what I'm saying because they're an uneducated fool. And then they just back away slowly because they understand that they picked on the wrong person.

Plus, me talking in a smart tone makes them look more stupid than they already are.

I'd curse the person
