Well On Paper: I lightly draw the outline then BOLD the parts I want and also adding on some details. Then I erase everthing then bold in everything again since bold writing is hard to get out. ;D Ze Computer: Pretty much the same as on paper but instead layers. 1: Do the scribbles 2: New layer then in blue choose the parts I want 3: Another layer that's for the black lines and delete all layers below. 4: Make a new layer and move it below the black line layer and colourit. ---- Just in case I messed up lol Do ya draw your self? Yes, Do you have a ref for your mouse made by you? Planning to make one. Post em here and write about your style, what's important to your mouse. That it looks like my mouse lol, and lots of winter items to keep her warm and what you see in the personality!~ Human mice |

Good idea holly! ------------------- I always draw my pilot mouse with an attitude, he pretty much thinks he's better than everyone else so I give him those types of expressions or little speech bubbles saying something such as "Don't look at me." Well my style....I try to keep it kind of cute so others will like my art, but also I make sure it appeals to me. All of my mice are protective over their hair...mostly the boys though. Although they love it so much, it's usually pretty messy. I don't really have a ref for my mouse/mice but I have many drawings of them. Done by me of course. I really like the expressions of y mice to stand out so I tend to give them funny expressions. ![]() I don't know...weird things like that. |

yeah. yeah i do draw myself quite alot. each of my looks has it's own personality, name etc bluh bluh. no i can't have a ref i have too many but there's one. my style seems to be semi-realistic anime-esque thing to me i don't even know i used to look at other artists but now i'm experimenting alot so a bit self-taught but eh. anything i draw comes out slim like heck. like i said each of my mice have diff personalities so diff things are important to them so it's hard to name it all :B though an example is lazur, she's all about world peace aha. i don't get the last question but oh well. |

Uhm, I never draw my own mouse!! Only my friend's mice, sometimes. I rarely even draw my own OCs but that's a different story. Howeveeeerrr, the mouse's pose and expression is always based on their outfit unless the owner tells me what they want. And their outfit since I draw human mice. My style isn't very good since I draw with my stupid laptop mousepad and it's hard. There's not much special about it either. Transformice art is just normal people with mouse ears/tails and regular art is pretty boring too. There's nothing unique about my style except the way I shade, I guess... but it's not even that great. I hope I can get a tablet soon, it'd be sooooo much easier to draw! |

My drawings mainly come in 4 layers. (lineless) 1st layer: basic shapes locating spefic body parts (heads, arms, legends, hands, ect) 2nd layer: My sketch, I referr back to it through out my course creating the piece 3rd layer: Body, this includes coloring shading of the main body, head, eyes, ect 4th layer: Hair, Like the body, I color and shade this on one layer. Do you draw yourself? Sometimes . My mouse is basically like myself, she's shy, hyper, clumsy, and very immature, yet she can act mature at the right moment. I often take these personality traits into consideration when drawing the mouse for poses and expressions, like for example, using the clusmy trait, I may draw her dropping a cannon or something. If I draw my friend's mice I often use their personality traits to determine the pose and expression as well. A few important charcteristics I like having for my certain mouse is a curl at the end of the hair, a very long scarf, and red eyes (at first I was very indescicive with my eye color). Do you have a referrence of your mouse drawn by you? Not yet, but I do plan on making one in the near future! That's a it really. |

yes I do have a ref made by myself that i never use because i think it sucks. i don't draw digitally myself a lot but traditionally, i probably end up doodling on every paper i get even if its just a triangle. -- as for my mouse, the two main things is that it has a cat hat and a tricolor scarf. the flower and sun tail piece arent always needed but meh. i visualize my mouse as my fursona, which if you dont know, it means that my mouse is me in my animal form XD if that makes sense. -- I try to keep my poses varied and expressions varied... e.e TRY i really like drawing characters looking anywhere but at you. -- my layers are a mess and usually are what i feel are most convenient. i have a sketch layer that for somereason i always like to keep even after i am done... of course making it invisible. it's just my thing ^^;; usually i have a layer for lineart and a layer for flat colors. if i need to shade, i have one base shading and then another shading layer to make parts darker. sometimes i have a highlight layer, but its only sometimes. usually i have a layer just for eyes as well and some other items i feel that it would be easier to have another layer and lastly i have a background layer which can range from one to 13489 layers depending on it. -- sorry for the long post..im just kinda bored and thought this was interesting XD |
