So I was in a very crowded room (about 100 people) and everyone was spamming the chat, and it was really laggy. And suddenly during the Carnaval event map the chat froze and when I typed anything and entered it, nothing showed up, and I wasn't able to see what everyone else was saying. After the last message, there was only a "[" with nothing after it. I tried whispers but nothing worked. It seemed like I wasnt the only one having this problem because I could still see the word bubbles over the mice heads.

Looks like this happens every time after the event map and it takes around 10 minutes to get back to normal.

Yep same thing happened to me after the event map. It wasn't even that the chat was going fast. Channels still work but nothing in the main chat works.

Although obtaining a badge in another event map (or maybe just going through it again) seemed to correct the chat as it started working properly again.

I got that too. They should really fix that.

We just got it, and the chat lag didn't even need an event this time. Just randomly stopped working.

As above, alternative channels still work, but direct whispers do not.
