You have to press the 'X' on the left side of their name. It won't unfriend them, but press it twice, you'll unfriend them. You have to wait I think 24 or 48 hours before you can remarry.

It's only an hour.

I did, It's not working. The girl divorced and her name is still in my profile.

It may be a while. If you log back in to the game, it should go away.

There have been some issues with the community platform, which marriage is tied into.
