I think it'd be cool if people could write a status, which would be shown on their profile, or even in rooms above the mice. You could use like 50 characters or something and colours.
This isn't something what's needed but I think it'd be nice to have a chance for this. (Sorry for crappy explanation)

Yeah, I didn't think that. An option to turn colors off is a good addition.

Just because you are going to type something different, does not make it a completely different suggestion.
How do you know a bio cant say hello, goodbye or something they did.
Why can't the person using a bio reserve the first line just for a specific "status" and keep on changing it when they want.
You can easily put that in a bio, thats what i put in my bios on other forums, there is absolutely nothing denying you of it on the other. However this one does, with a word limit..

These are pretty much exactly the same concept and idea, and the difference makes the other generally better anyway.

Only differences:
--Theres a button in the other one. (You probably didnt care bout this one, but gotta count it)
--50 words and colours (50 words is worse, colours is easily addable to the other)
--You will have the status above your head (the only difference, but this is still pretty unneeded and spammy, especially with random statuses, and as anthony said, could EASILY be abused)

And the main thing I dislike about this ^ is its just like Twitter or something. WHY DONT YOU JUST SAY IT. WHY DONT YOU JUST CHAT AND SAY "Woot I got 4001 hat" e.t.c. Why must you hang it on your head? It makes no difference.
The Bio however, you can add things that people might ask you for example. "Hey where are you born, how old are you, e.t.c", and you can just say, check my bio. Or maybe people dont even need to ask this because they know theres a bio. Compared to just "Hello!""Goodbye""I did something" Seriously? You honestly JUST cant say this in chat... I could make this longer, but I know I'm boring to listen to/read/whatever this is, so, yeah...

This's idea isn't same as bio-button. In this status you aren't supposed to tell about you. You are supposed to put there like a catch phrase or — like Kittaii said — hello etc. Something very short.

As I said, nothing says a bio has to be about you.
Nothing about a name has to say that.
Omg its an umbrella, we MUST use it to protect us from the rain.
There are multiple things you can use things for. A name, or what its always been used for, does not state that that is what you always have to do.

Don't get your first E/ I'm just stating, the profile status = bio, but less words.
EE/ Since when did chatting once in the chat = Spamming
Since when did just writing it up in a line of your bio = Spamming
Please explain that part more.

My final refinement on my first argument.
If it is called a Biography Button, does not mean you have to write a biography
Same thing goes, If it is called a Swimming Pool, does not mean you HAVE to swim in it.
You can snorkel in it for example (bad example but go with it)
If I were to have a Biography Button, I would give links to my other website profiles. That isn't a biography. I'm fairly sure many people would do the same.
You don't have to do the same as the name.

Also, there is nothing on the forum that says "you can only write about yourself"

You control it
You can put what you want.

I love putting these little quotes in my statuses, and I honestly would love to have this option on TFM, too. Sure, there would probably be immature statuses.. But to be honest, I find that it's a bit selfish to unallow decent people to have something just because some immature children could possibly missuse it. Maybe the game could filter out some insulting words when making a status?
