No because someone might purposely join and leave to spam the chat. You could also use /who to see if anyone has left, so its kinda pointless, and if its a chat with random people like that event chat, why would it matter anyways?

There's no harm in people knowing what country you're in. (Besides, you just admitted to us you're in America so you apparently aren't too shy about people knowing you're here)
America's a pretty big place, and no "child molester," if that's your fear, will find you. Especially if you keep safe with your information.
