My friends can finally stop yelling at me and asking "why are you ignoring me" when I specifially say I'm going afk :p

how do you know if they read it? maybe they just had the whisper tab open but were afk or something and didnt read it? you kind of dont have a way to actually prove they read it or not

Then thats their fault, if they want to have unread messages, they can go to the room tab... Or tell the person they are afk...

It works the same as the forums.
You never know if someone has actually read the newest unread posts, but they definitely have viewed them
