Hello everyone, Transformice has had the same "Skill measure" system for 4 years now. I've been wanting it to be better for a long time. I'd like to introduce my idea to the community and see what they think. Here it is: A system beside cheese gathered, firsts gained and shaman points. Everytime you enter the hole your spot in the hole give you points, for example #1 = 10 points, #2 is 9 points, untill #9 = 2 points. After that everyone that ENTERS the hole gets 1 point. Everyone that DIES/suicides gets ZERO points. These points will be devided by the amount of maps you've done. Effectively, you'll get a value between 0 and 10 that perfectly shows how capable you are at playing TFM, rather than the current firsts gained vs cheese gathered. For example: Imagine that in theory you're #2 EVERY map, you'll get 0 firsts every map and you look like a noob in your profile. Some people really care about this, so much they suicide if they dont get firsts to LOOK better!! With my system, you'll get 9 points each map (Seperate from shaman points, shaman points are untouched). Diveded by the amount of maps you've played, you'd have 9 points on your profile. A more realistic example: I played 5 maps, and I've gotten these spots in the hole #2, #7, #3, died, #11. This is worth 9 + 4 + 8 + 0 + 1 = 22 points, I've played 5 maps -> 22 / 5 = 4,4 (prefferbly every value down to one or zero decimals only). This would mean that I'm in general better at racing to the hole in TFM than someone with a score of 3 (under 4,4), and worse than someone with a score of 5 (over 4,4). Someone with a score of for example 8,1 would be extremely good at TFM. The idea of giving 0 points to dying mice, is to counter this extremely annoying (in my opinion) statpad suiciding after not getting a first just so your cheese gathered vs firsts obtained looks better (Shamans everywhere rejoice). In my system you'd still see cheese gathered and firsts obtained. But if you've played a 1000 maps and got 103 firsts and 106 cheese gathered, you'd have a score around 1 out of 10 in my system, which shows they're really not much at all. With my system, statpadders will be able to continue statpadding but without annoying others by "forcing" them to suicide to look good. Now I hear you worry: "WHAT if that shaman is a noob and NOBODY gets to the hole?!". I thought, if this is the case, and less than 3 (2, 1, 0) people get to the hole then the map shouldn't count towards the system for ANYONE as either the map was impossible, the shaman was too bad, the shaman was doing favo-then-kill-all or any other reason which You can't help or change. It's not flawless but it will certainly help for the better. Ofcourse, maybe people get better ideas out of my idea. And you're free to think about it as you like. Let me know what you think about this system, and let truly good players really stand out. Because let's face it, we can't Always be first, and I'd still like us to be rewarded atleast for giving it a good try! |

How will this work for survivor where the majority of the time you die? Or if you do live, most of the time it's you alone or you with 1 or two other survivors, and that means there's be less than 3 and nobody would get points period, it'd be unfair to those that did survive.. EDIT: Also what about minigames such as deathmatch or ffarace? In Deathmatch it goes until one is left alive. In ffarace you die about 90% of the time. Also, bootcamp? |

But people would still call you "noob" and stuff if you have bad "points" so what's the point in that... Either way i still think this isnt really needed in my opinion... Does it really matter how good you are at getting cheese and bringing it to the hole..? /no support |

Brightgem a dit : If it doesn't matter, why are you here? You started this game to collect cheese, did you not? And even if you say it's for the people you've met, I'm sure you didn't meet all of them the first day you started. |

Themousenn a dit : It is solely meant for transformice itself, it could be made to turn off in any mini-game room because those are not about getting cheese. Bootcamp is about getting across the map and it already has a seperate profile score for that. |

Brightgem a dit : The point is not to have people stop calling eachother noob. They will always do that! It is rather to have a more decent way of showing how good you are at the game. Something to strive for besides first, to keep it competitive even if you cant always be the one to make firsts. Another big factor of this idea is to stop the bad reputation of statpadders and their annoying suicides. With my idea they would play the game as it is intended, rather than suiciding so they don't get +1 cheese without +1 first on their profile. |

What happens if you don't die or complete the map and you're still alive then? Would the map not be scored towards you? And if so, then wouldn't that just encourage statpadders to stay alive the full map and make maps longer by having them be the last alive and just waste the time? |

Why would you care about showing whether you're good or not? The point of the game is to get cheese, not show off stats in a way that people will understand |

Nibblerrat a dit : This is more of an Anti Statpadder suggestion than to see if you're pro or not |
