IP blocking chat is ridiculous |

Just because you don't live in some country, it doesn't mean that you can't speak the language. It especially is ridiculous in the EN2 server, because most of the world knows english. The chat blocking by IP should be removed altogether in all servers. |

I know it seems extreme but unfortunately it's the price you pay when a ton of people decide to go to other servers and wreak havoc. EN2 is a little screwed up right now. It'll be resolved tomorrow. |

Yes I agree, but imagine some people come and start using google translation and pretend to talk the language, don't blame the admins or us, blame the people who ruin the experience. |

Sydo said tig will fix this bug. Also, the ip block is for people NOT to spam other servers. You don't want someone doing this in your server: Hahaha Se oli niin hauskaa! Sinun pitäisi olla koomikko tai jotain, se on niin hyvä xD Do you? |

Since EN1 is an international server, people can just go there to spam their own language. If somebody speaks a language different from the server they're in, they should just get temporarily banned from the server, of course only if they're in a public room. |

Dkgirl a dit : You only get banned if you talk another language in EN2 I believe. |

Shinark a dit : I guess it would be hard to have all servers moderated, but it is just so annoying... |

- Banned if you speak any language othan than English on E2 - Kicked or warning muted if you flood the chat with the language of an existing community on E1 (ie: I speak Portuguese with friends in en-5, I may be kicked or receive a 0 hr warn to speak English or go to BR) |

This is likely to be loosened up once these newer communities have some moderators. It makes sense to automatically keep every possible foreigner out until enforcement is in place. Eventually I reckon this will go from blocking everyone except native IPs to simply blocking the most common countries, which happen to be the biggest communities on TFM. |

Lemodile a dit : Well, that would still suck for those common countries... |

I really hope all communities stay blocked for JP though. It seems really rough but I'd rather a few people be inconvenienced than Japanese players be made extremely uncomfortable because some ten year old weeaboo "otaku" goes to JP with Google Translate on another tab so they can talk with the anime people. |

Haruhitastic a dit : The server would have no end of that if the blocks were lifted, so I agree with you honey-bumpkins. |

Haruhitastic a dit : I'm sure most 'weeaboos' would be bored of doing that pretty quickly |

Dkgirl a dit : They absolutely would not. They're not called "weeaboos" for nothing. |

Haruhitastic a dit : Well, couldn't moderators just ban them? |

Lagiacruss a dit : I could imagine they'd rather go back to watching their favorite anime, than speaking to people that they can't understand |

Shinark a dit : Most peope can't tell the difference unless they're a native speaker or have been studying the language multiple years. So it'll have to wait for mods to be trained etc. Dkgirl a dit : I can't begin to tell you the amount of kids I've met over the years who insist they speak Japanese and either write every thing in katakana or use Google, or use words they've learned from anime and do this for years until someone slams them into the dirt and tells them to shut up. And I've met lots of those kinds of people here too. Dkgirl a dit : You don't understand weebs very well if you think this. |

Haruhitastic a dit : They'll quickly realise that they can't actually speak japanese, when they go on the japanese server, though. |

I can see why they added it, but the method they used is really dumb. I can't play with some of my long-distant best friends anymore ;; at least not until this is fixed. |
