I kept debating suggesting this, but I'd absolutely love a room with the only modification being that there is No Chatbox. I know sometimes I really want to play TFM, but I just do not have the energy to deal with the drama of it all, and even keeping myself on TC allows the wordbubble popups to show up and interrupt my groove. I end up getting pulled into arguments and enjoying the game a lot less than I would, so this seems like an efficient and elegant solution for players like me, who just want to play. Pros: -No Drama -No Bullying -No Raging -Encourages communication via in-game methods, allowing for further immersion -Doesn't actually take up much additional coding/etc Implementation: -Still receive whispers, unless you have them disabled -Still get room-wise title/badge/level notifications an alternative could be a "silence all" option, but I think that having an entire room dedicated to it would help it build its own community, since you'd end up feeling connected to other players who also feel uncomfortable in normal rooms. |

I suppose disabling speech bubbles has been suggested several times, as this would also help in cramped bootcamps for example. Other than that you can pretty much get rid of all the chat by simply opening a private chat channel. e.g. /chat Kibblespit. That way you won't see any chat appear and it's up to your own discipline not to tab back to room chat. You'll still get notified of whispers since that leaves a little heart in your room chat tab. I know it's a workaround and I know your idea would get the job done more nicely, but I don't think a lot of people will need this, decreasing your chances of getting it implemented. So until then I guess this could work? |

You can disable mesages on chatbox in the settings. Not sure about the speech bubbles. |
