How about a command where you can temporarily mute a person when theyre being annoying? /mute [name] [minutes]

I know there’s /ignore, but I mean this would unlock after the time given. Sometimes with /ignore you forget and unignore a long time later

It wouldnt unfriend them if youre friends with them, and if they continue spamming once you muted them, they get a message:

“This player has muted you."

This could also be helpful for mods/sentinels, since they say their chat is filled with whispers. Sometimes annoying spammers. I dont think theyre allowed to ignore players because maybe later they might have a problem, so I think this would also help a bit so their chat is a biiiit cleaner

Personally I don't see an issue where you'd want to only ignore someone temporarily like this, if someone is spamming or being annoying then they'll likely be like that a lot of the time. I see your point though, so this could be useful, but extending the current ignore list with this functionality would make more sense to me.

If it's gotten to the point where you're muting your own friends, it doesn't seem like having them friended is a great idea in the first place.

This does seem like a useful idea for the current ignore system, I'd like to see this implemented so people don't whisper someone and wonder why they don't respond.

They're allowed to ignore people they choose to for the same reasons regular players can. /mute is already a command that moderators use to stop people typing already (just like /ban is a different command for them - they can't voteban), so it'd need to be named differently for them to be able to use it and this point to stand.

To be honest 9/10 times I ignore someone (which doesn't happen a lot), a temporary ignore would've done the job just fine. In that sense I would've preferred a system where /ignore would be temporary, with the option of ignoring someone permanently. But I can perfectly well imagine that others feel differently about this.

Sometimes you have a good friend, but there’s always those arguments you just want to skip, but cant because they keep whispering you. Muting would work just fine in that situation. And when you ignore someone, it unfriends them and even if it’s a temporary ignoring they might ignore you back :P

You might never know if it’s because someone entered their account and started spamming you. The muting would work, plus, I have a few tribe members that always spam my chat to get my attention. I dont want to ignore them, because they might want a test or to report someone who broke the tribe rules

There's a nifty option where you can tab a whisper out. Just do that.
