The way I see this is a steam workshop type of thing for their games. This idea can bring forward some thing bigger that can encourage players to make new content and put it inside an A801 page that will allow people to vote for what they like and can influence the devs to use these ideas as often the creativity of people go unnoticed.

This can be a good thing as it will get more people creating content and having a more diverse shop with a huge range of all sorts of items that the community voted for.

It would be cool to see that the player gets a fraction of the cheese and/or strawberries with a maximum limit.

There was a thread like this a while ago, before the new forums. It was where you had to pay a couple thousand cheese to get to make your own item, and you get a code for that item, which you can share with friends or keep to yourself. He made it so that you only had a line tool and a shading tool, and there was a limit to the layers you could make (a layer for each color). Will there be that kind of limit for this suggestion?

Also, the whole selling thing would ruin the whole point of buying fraises or earning cheese. You shouldn't be able to sell the item you make, you should have to pay for it instead, and get no profit. If you could just get fraises by making some tail charm or hairstyle, no one would buy fraises anymore, and atelier 801 would go bankrupt.
There's also the whole thing about people copying the 4001 hat or making furs for free, so there would have to be limits on how much space you can use per item. A big idea like this needs to be extremely thought out and planned, which you don't seem to be thinking much of.

One last thing. Exactly HOW would the items get filtered? If there were going to be thousands of items coming in every hour, no mods would want to filter through all of it. That's why you should have to pay maybe 2000 or 3000, maybe even 4000 cheese per item, so no one would be too committed to trolling like that. People would be even more dedicated to trolling if they got paid for it, so no.

Over all, it would be much better to pay for a head, ear, tail, neck or hair slot for your item, get the code, and use it than to get the whole mouse for free, make a gonad item and get lots of cheese or fraises for it.

I agree that fraises is a bad idea as it should only be bought and shows direct support to the developers. However, the way I see this is that the person would be earning cheese with their designs.

"If you are good at something, never do it for free" People would be putting a lot of time into this and they should be rewarded for it. And just to remind you that not every single design put out on this will be chosen and it is only when it is chosen and out on to the shop for 1 week (?) they will be given the cheese depending on how well it had done (with limitations).

I think that Atelier801 will benefit from this as there will be large variety of items in the shop that the community has chosen and they would want to buy these with fraises

I believe that people would not want to see hundreds of 4001 hats everywhere so they would use their vote to disagree with the hat and we will get lots of original hats

Good question. It will be the community that will do this, they upvote or downvote depending on how they feel about the item which will be sorted out in a ranked list that can be filtered by newest, trending and top within the hour, day, month, year and all time. Additional filters can be put out such as type of item.

Also they can report certain items if it violates any rules so that they can be dealt accordingly by the mods that will be overseeing everything, for example, by banning them from the website and the privilege of voting taken away

If this will happen, they should be refunded if the items came out positively or at least decent

Can you find the post that says this?

While personalized furs or fur colors have been denied, the admins never spoke out against other shop items. Selling or trading items (both back to the shop or to other players) has been rejected though, so personal items would be for personal use.

I do share some of the concerns others have voiced, especially regarding inappropriate items. Transformice already leans heavily on the community as far as reporting bad stuff goes, I'm not sure if this should be exploited even more.
