New chocolate update |

Why did the tfm crew find it necessary to make chocolate 100% friction. It was fine the way it was for the 3 years I've been playing. Now I'm finding my old technique of doing chocolate turn arounds nearly impossible and they take much longer because you don't slide down the chocolate anymore. Wide chocolate turnarounds have become so much more difficult because the timing changed so much. However, it did make doing narrow choclate ta's with cheese slightly easier. Is this bothering anyone else? |

They made it 98% if it was 100% you would not beable to jump on it of move you would just stick. And i think they should go back the normal way because chocolate when u touch it it starts to melt...so i think they shoudl and that to the game, and more they update it the mnore boring it kinda gets well not BORING but wierd, IF you know what i mean lol....So yes they should put it back, :) you can Email them to tell them what you think > http://www.transformice.com/contact/index.php < this is were you can contact them! |

quietly waits for an update that'll actually be useful. |

A lot of bad updates lately. Not bad as in they suck but they could be spending more time on a larger update. The chocolate ground one is just not so great, chat bubbles I can deal with but chocolate impacted my gameplay a bit. |

Something tells me a lot of maps are going to need changes now. |

The update was a change in the physics of the game so that they're consistent across all frame rates. It was a necessary update since people were abusing it to gain unfair advantages as well as make certain hacks with it. There's going to be some slight differences if you were using 60fps before, but bootcamp techniques still remain the same. Sliding down chocolate was a bit of a luxury that was fairly recent in TFM's history, before the optimisations that allowed 60fps you would always 'stick' just before losing friction while trying to walk down choc TA's. |

I'm not sure what the largest chocolate TA possible was before but it's still possible to do 40 length chocolate TA's without cheese, the largest I could do with cheese was about 32 length. Large TA's are still possible just really difficult to do as they probably should be in things like Bootcamp. It's good that they're trying to balance the game while also patching it, that's always nice to hear. Dernière modification le 1411667220000 |

Shinark a dit : Bigger isn't better. Ever since people could set their own FPS, people could abuse having different physics than others in a map, for example ice tubes in bootcamp worked fine in 36 FPS but were impossible to use in 60 FPS, several map mechanics such as treadmills broke, walljumping was slightly easier in higher FPS, etc. It left many maps broken, and from the perspective of a member of the Map Crew it's been a pain to figure out if a map worked consistently under different circumstances, and I'm glad that this is fixed. To clarify, this isn't changing chocolate or physics from what it used to be, it's just changing it to 36 FPS' physics, which is what most people played on and what it used to be from 2010 to late 2013 for everyone. |
