Major lag, but only in uter |

This might not be a bug, but it's making me crazy. In general, my ping is fine. Not terrific, but okay. At the very least, it's consistent. However, every time I try to do bootcamp in room uteruskick, my lag goes through the roof. I've tried various other bootcamp maps and they're completely fine, no unusual lag whatsoever. 20 seconds into uter and it strikes, becoming nearly impossible to complete the map. This is the first time I've bootcamped in months and it's been three consecutive days of lag on that map. No one I've spoken to is suffering from this. To be honest, I'm not that concerned about whether this particular map is inexplicably lagging for anyone else. I'm mostly just wondering if anyone knows what the reason for it might be. I've tried closing all my tabs, clearing history and cookies, etc., all the usual things to decrease lag. But again...it's only on this map, and nothing I've tried works. Any ideas? |

I think you mean the bootcamp map by Uteruskick (@177652) and not "room Uteruskick". Also, your ping should have to do anything with the lag you describe. It sounds like you are experiencing performance issues (drop in fps) instead of network issues (rising ping). Can you start your game, type this in chat without quotation marks: "/ips" This command will show some debug information, the yellow one shows your current framerate and the blue one shows the average framerate. Can you tell us what number you have there if you play normally and what number it shows when you play the mentioned bootcamp please? The cause could be an issue with the xml code of the map. I extracted the map's code and recycled two of my tribehouses for a test. Can you load these two maps in your tribehouse and see if one of them also gives you the same issues as the original map made by Uteruskick? They will show the same map but have a tiny difference in the xml code. @921588 @1916168 |

Uh, yeah. Colloquially called Uteruskick. Didn't know anyone got formal with nomenclature in the "Bugs" section. My ips numbers are in flux. For the most part, they're at about 60/59. That's an empty vanilla room. Same results in a random bootcamp room. And, as it turns out, same results in Uter, although during the initial jump I did once catch the yellow number briefly flicker to 35. Still getting patchy frames onscreen for the duration of the map, similar to a video with every other frame missing, and at moments I seem to lag to the point where I'm in slow motion. @921588 in the tribe house is vacillating between lagging and perfection, but on average is much, much better than the real deal so long as I don't change tabs while the map is up. I can at least wall jump in the tribe house version, which is a huge improvement. Unfortunately the improvement doesn't seem to be quantifiable, as the ips is pretty consistently at around 59/59. I'd tell you what @1916168 is doing, but my internet is currently playing a fun game called "turn off every 30 seconds." Anyway, big thanks for any help or expertise you can offer. I thought no one was going to answer this thread. |

You said "However, every time I try to do bootcamp in room uteruskick" which initially sounded to me like you want to bootcamp in /room uteruskick but either way that's not important for the issue we are discussing ;) @921588 is actually the version where I changed a little thing in the xml but I guess this was not causing the problem since you still seem to have issues with that map. Also, the lag you describe seems to be weird, especially because your ips number apparently stay at the 60 and only flicker down sometimes. To be honest I don't have an idea anymore what could be causing this. Did you always have this issue with this map? |

Ah, man, that is bad news. When I saw the improvement in the tribe house I thought for sure you were onto something. I never had issues with this map before now. I took about a four-month break from bootcamp and when I came back to it this was happening. Prior to the weird lag I was averaging 8-10 bootcamps per map; now if I'm lucky I might get three because of the lag. |
