Sometimes after you finally collect 10 red gifts, find someone to trade it with, and you open it....

You get absolutely nothing....

Or more accurately, you get like more fireworks when you already have 80. Or you get titles you already have.
Which means all that time and effort of getting the 10 gifts was totally pointless and wasted.
(Not saying the 10 cheese and gameplay experience was also a waste of time though)

How about whenever this would happen, you at least get like 2 or 3 shop cheese instead?

halloween slots only gave one cheese for the correct combination, so it was harder to get.
getting relics is still ridiculously rare, so you could end up just opening a shitload of presents just for the cheese.

so if you had, for example, 80 blue/green presents, had maxxed out consumables, and opened all of them, you could potentially get 240 shop cheese according to your suggestion. repeat at least 30 more times, and you could have enough cheese to buy a 7k cheese fur.

i think coal coated fur would be fun except when you open your present it automatically applies to your mouse. So you can't keep it in inventory, It can even be an animated fur that shows coal dust when you run and jump n stuff...
