Moderator: Original title was "When is it coming to Steam?". Since we now know it'll be on the 30th, this can serve as a general release discussion.



I know they said early 2015, but does anyone know whether that means this month, next month, or..?

My question is how they're getting it on steam, because usually smaller games like Transformice would have to go through the Greenlight process. Maybe they're trying to get it on Steam without this process, but I doubt it.

I suggest to expect an announcement to vote on the game on Greenlight soon.

Possibly... That would be somewhat annoying, because Steam's Greenlight is very broken.

Oh it's very broken and I don't think they'll fix Greenlight anytime soon. There's a huge difference in games that were greenlit and released, so even if everyone got together to vote, who knows how long it'll take for the game to be released. Now I haven't actually used Greenlight to put up a game so maybe there's another process after the game gets greenlit, but one thing is for sure: It's an absolute mess in Steam's Greenlight for any small developer trying to get their game out to the masses.

This game is already established and available to the masses. I don't think it needs to go through a Greenlight process.

And I think the 56 million registered accounts and fraises system will back that up.

I don't understand why we need a third way to access the game on a computer. Is their going to be achievements?

A couple things would probably be Steamworks for stats and achievements (a leaderboard with disqualifications? wouldn't that be nice), and their Valve Anti-Cheat system (detecting hacks on the computer).

Maybe the mods will become redundant and we won't need them, or they can do their original job and just focus on chat violations. Hey, isn't that something to look forward to?

Also it will be listed in free-to-play.

I am not actually excited that it is going to be added on steam.. I am just excited for what new things will be added in-game when it is going to be added. hehe c:

I think it might anyways, mainly because I don't think it's exactly as popular as it seems. You say 56 million people are registered here, but how many are still around or how many of those accounts are unique? That being said, I would still think that the nature of the game is inviting so it wouldn't take long for the game to get enough votes to go through the greenlight process.

I agree with the mods going back to their original job because VAC might be able to detect the use of Cheat Engine pretty easily. Would be nice for an Achievement system to happen, but I would imagine that it would use the existing title system as a base.

It'll open up another fraise payment option which is the biggest thing for a lot of people, but will also let you log your ingame time and whatnot through Steam. It's not going to be paid, it's not going to be different than the main game at all, it's just going to be another platform to play the game on.

They're going to announce the release date tomorrow! :D

I guess the only huge upside of it , Is that you would be able to get fraises via (If you are brazillian) Billet.

Transformice doesn’t need to go through the Greenlight system, it was approved by a Valve representative directly and will be available directly on the Steam store. Source

Transformice will come to steam on Friday 30TH January!
