You can delete permanently your OWN comment, only your comment, but sentinels can see the deleted comment (if the comment is double-post, innapropiate link, indecent language, etc. you can be "muted"). So, I will create a list with Supporters, Half-Supporters and Unsupporters. You can write your answer (support , half-suport , no-support) and your reason.

While a delete button wouldn't entirely hurt, what's stopping people from reporting their own posts and/or editing the second+ post to make it clear the double+ post was accidental?

Sure, but sentinels has many reports (mute-evasion, indecent language, not accidental double posts, etc.). It's hard to moderate all reports. So, we want to create this button, to make this work easy...

Why not edit your post and replace it with a "removed" or "accidental double post" and eventually a sentinel will moderate it. I don't think this is needed.

But what if one says something really, really bad, lets it lay there for just some moments until people see it, and then they delete it? The other players might have screenshots, but it might be hard to distinguish photoshop from an actual screenshot

If what you're saying is what I think you are, then I kinda agree. A delete button is giving a bit too much power to the players.

Spam a bit, delete.
Talk inappropriately for a bit, delete.
Be incredibly rude a lot, delete.

If you wanna delete a post, just edit it saying "removed" or "accidental" or "delete this" and report it.

Any of my posts I report to get deleted get deleted pretty fast so I still don't think this is needed.
