I tend to miss a lot of whispers when I go afk or if someone is spamming the chat, which often leads to the chat tab turning pink with the heart, but by the time I get to it, the whisper is too far up the chat to be read anymore and I have no clue who even whispered me. This especially happens a lot during events and in the trading room (where everyone is spamming literally 24/7). So my idea is to have all whispers become tabs without you having to click the persons name and click 'Whisper (tab)' so that if you go afk or someone is spamming and you get a whisper, it will be there when you get back or once you ignore the person. The tab will be close-able anytime you want to stop having it there and it will just pop back up if the person whispers you again. Before you go "well what if I don't want random people to whisper me and get spammed with chat tabs" there's a thing called /silence which mutes whispers from people who aren't your friends. So don't give me that bull. Sorry for not having a picture but its literally just an auto tab feature for whisper.

you could just press r to get the other person's whisper name tag thing, but this would be nice anyways.

can you really, not be bothered to press whisper(tab)? just press the cross in the corner to make the chat bigger and try to find and orange typing.

Oh i would imagine a looots of tabs for me since i usually talk a lot w/ my friends...Anyway the idea doesnt seem that bad, but i will only full /support if there would be an option to turn these off/on as i dont want to always use the silence option everytime i log in.

I stated in the thing itself (if you had taken the time to read the whole thing you would know this) that by the time I come back/ignore the spammer, the whisper has went up too far in the chat to be seen anymore.

Agreed. I do this all the time but I know some people don't like to so if we could flip it on and off then ayy.

I fully support this. This should be able to be toggled on and off as previously mentioned.
This would be incredibly useful for those who frequently receive a large quantity of whispers from one or multiple players. Instead of constantly seeing a wall of orange text on their main chat window and accidentally missing or skipping a whisper, they could opt to automatically have all of their incoming whispers appear in tabs.
For example:
Sometimes I will walk away from my computer for about ten, fifteen, or twenty minutes. I'll come back, scroll up to the very top, read what I've missed, and then start playing again. Friends in the room will notice that I'm back and playing, and will tell me to whisper them back. Well, I didn't even know that they whispered me to begin with, because the main chat window pushed the whisper into oblivion.

The problem is that you can get spammed with these tabs. Why? Trolls exist, what if you see millions of tabs when you come back?
Honestly this would be a good idea with people who are only on your friendlist.
basically, if you're going to get tabs it might as well be from your friends and only friends.

I'd rather see a million different tabs than a million different whispers on my main chat window, tbh.

I'd like to suggest adding the "Friend whispers be tabbed, while non-friend whispers not" and wise-versa option. This might be helpful for people who are retrieving a lot of whispers
