I think there should be a command named /Map

Basically what it would do is open up a small “screen”, like the Tribe and Friendslist are, and it would have a text-box. In the text-box, you have to put @[Map code] and then click “Submit"

It would then give you a list of who created the map first, then who editted it, who seconded that, etc. It would also give the date of when it was first created, when the edit was done, and on forth.
On a corner, there could be a small “Zoom-in” type screen in which it shows the full map. You can click on it and it’ll open up, then you can click on areas and drag around to zoom in to check out how the map is without having to do /np @code and walking around the entire thing [It might sound lazy, but some maps are huge and running around like a mouse might take a little too long when just checking out a map.]

I think this would help to avoid tribe-map stealing, since no one would be really pleased if their map was slightly editted and then the person who editted it takes credit for the entire map and then a whole arguement starts up on who made it first.

This is basically just to gain knowledge on a map, it wont change the map itself at all or anything.

this might just be me being tired and having crappy comprehension skills.
'It would then give you a list of who created the map first, then who editted it, who seconded that, etc. It would also give the date of when it was first created, when the edit was done, and on forth.'
'I think this would help to avoid tribe-map stealing, since no one would be really pleased if their map was slightly editted and then the person who editted it takes credit for the entire map'
but wouldn't the original map and stolen map be two different maps [have two different map codes, whatever]? how would that help you figure out who originally created it?

I shouldve put this in the OP [size=7]DAMMIT

It would kind of be like this;

Original Creator: [Username] / [Date Created]
Edited by: [Username] / [Date Edited]
Edited by: [Username] / [Date Edited]

Just like that

If someone took the time to look at pictures of a map and copied it in a new scheme then it wouldn’t know. But it would be “recorded” on who has made changes on a map that already exists

...That can't work though, try to edit a map that already exists.

That depends on the age of the map, I guess
If it’s old then you cant edit it on Map Editor, but if it’s more recent you can
I would think that it would somewhat help newer good maps to not get edited by someone else who could take credit for it

you can't edit other people's maps in the map editor unless you have the xml code
