So the game has since its been update been crashing and lagging. It is realy discouraging to start 20 seconds on a map after others and having to close and open the game again now and again because it freezes.
I am wondering what courses this. Does anybody else have the same problem. What can I do to prevent. I use both the steam client and the standalone it dies not seem to make any difference.

always check your ping , try to install the portable version :
1. open tfm on steam
2. when it loads you will get a square under the login next to the flag (it is the portable version download)
3. download it , enjoy!

There are more people having performance issues since the Steam release. I don't know what exactly is causing this but I trust the admins are looking into it. For now you may try to download the non-Steam standalone as well, see if that helps. You can download it here.

I did downlopad the steamstandalone and it have same problesm as the standalone.

Does the same thing also happen when you play in the browser or use Bafller's standalone? You can download it here.

I used the official standalone and steamstandalone and both it happens to. My ping usely starts around 62. then sometims it rises to the 1000+ and game freezes. I checked my internet on sies to measure it and I get 9,8 mb per second and 0,89 mp upload per second. ping is around 11. so my own internet conenction is not the isue.

I will try to play the game in google chrome and bafflers now and see if it solves the problem.

Does the game window itself freeze or only gameplay? Can you still move?

I can stil move, but everybody else stands stil or repeats the same motion again and again. Baflers standalone is a little better though.

It's server lag then. The satellite servers have been a bit buggy recently so I'm not really surprised.

this keeps happening to me and my friends too, it's quite annoying because when everything freeze the only way to fix it is to change room. i'm tired of this, because everytime it happens i lose my shaman turn and my firsts

Yep, happens.. I have no idea to fix it and its sorta annoying.

That happened to me too

my normal ping range at 250-300 with 8-20 internet ping(I know that my internet ping doesn't follow my ping in TFM)
when they start planning tfm on steam, everything gets lag.
