I was in a Vanilla room when suddenly, every time I try to complete a map with cheese, I die instead of getting rewarded with cheese.

See the death output on the bottom where it says "No cheese for you ^_^?"

That's where I somehow die instead of earning a cheese.

Anyone have similar instances?

As haru said it's known but rare. it happened to me, it seems logging out and logging back in is a fix for now.
