What is a shaman room?

A shaman room is a new room type, comparable to vanilla or bootcamp. Stats count normally.
These rooms only play maps from the P4 (shaman) category and have another extra functionality:
The shaman and the mice die if they fall from a high place, or if an object hits them too hard.

How do I reach a shaman room?

As these rooms are currently in the testing phase, you cannot find them in game by using the room list.
However, just like for vanilla & bootcamp, you can create your own shaman room.
All you need to do is add the word "shaman" to a roomname. Here you can see some examples:
/room shaman
/room my shaman room
/room letMeBeShaman

When exactly does my mouse die?

First off, your mouse dies if you are afk for the first 30 seconds like in every other room.
The following gifs serve as a demonstration for the extra functionality:

http://i.imgur.com/YpkIG56.gif
Your mouse dies when you drop down too far.

A ground's restitution value determines the safe drop height (SDH).
For normal wood/ice/choc/grass this SDH is 85px.
So if your drop height is 85px you are safe, if your drop height is 86 px you will die.
The SDH for normal tramp ground is 26px.

Your mouse dies when it is hit by a dynamic object with enough force.

I don't have exact numbers for this but testing clearly showed that force is the factor a mouse's death depends on.
According to F=m*a (force equals mass times acceleration) the force depends on an objects mass as well as its movement.
This means that an anvil is more likely to cause death than a small box.
However, a small box at high speed can be just as deadly as an anvil.

Do you have any tips for survival?

Yes, but I won't tell you. Just kidding, the following gifs again serve as demonstration for the tips:

http://i.imgur.com/79uhsut.gif
When you fall down, jump right before you hit the ground.
Jumping right before you hit the ground resets your drop height to the vertex of the jump.

http://i.imgur.com/gj5Iu0J.gif
Landing on a slope is safer.

Landing on a slope transfers your downwards momentum to sidewards momentum.
This means that the momentum at which you hit the ground decreases and you can land more safely.

http://i.imgur.com/W1Q5sto.gif
Narrow spaces are dangerous.
If you see a narrow space, be careful if you have to pass it.
Avoid jumping as this increases your chance of dying, as seen in the gif.

http://i.imgur.com/NSP7aWq.gif
Tramps are dangerous.
As said before, the SDH for tramps is 26px. This is lower than the height of your mouse.
Be careful around them.

http://i.imgur.com/BdnriKz.gif
Slopes are dangerous.
Running down a slope gives you downwards momentum. If you hit the ground too fast you will die.
Avoid this by turning around to slow down before you hit the ground.

Can I make maps that kill mice without being in a shaman room?

Yes, indeed you can.
@1854239 was used to determine the SDH on wood ground.
In order to prevent troll maps at least a little I won't explain how to make these maps, but still give all the needed information.
If you can't figure out how it works, you probably shouldn't be making such maps anyway.
The xml for said map can be found in this spoiler:

Is there a point to this other than added death factor?

Next to #spiritual we now have an official roomtype that plays only shaman maps. As the rooms are still in testing we could only speculate at this time what else the rooms might offer.

I pretty much said it in the post above yours. Some people like to play as a shaman. Now people can create rooms which only play shaman maps.

Please remove the consumables from the shaman rooms as people can troll heavily with them, just like on the event map.

Nice way of telling how to enable the "kill mice" without newbies making too much of troll maps haha

As someone with enough map XML knowledge, the added function pops to the eye

People who aren't good with XML aren't allowed to make shaman maps.
Hm.
It's to prevent troll maps, sure, but aren't troll maps deleted after enough "No" votes, anyway?

Yeah, okay, I'll just go learn this markup language, brb.
