Problems affecting the community |

Today, I've decided to type this hoping that someone will actually read and finish these problems, and I'll try to explain in the best way possible theses problems and the reason they are bad and should be fixed. First of all, I'm not talking about bugs or errors in the code. I'm going to talk about actions that are affecting Transformice's community as a whole and are making the game substantially worse, when these actions are actually supposed to make Transformice better. Let's get started with an important part on Transformice, the moderators. They are really important, because they help the game get better by not allowing bad people to ruin the entire game. Of course we need more moderators but I'm not here to talk about that, but rather the current way that moderators act. When, for example, a moderator sees someone swearing, it is expected (atleast it should) that the moderator will warn the person, for example: "> [Moderator] Please stop swearing." and then, if the person keeps swearing, he will mute the person. But what actually happens is, whenever a moderator sees someone swearing, this person will get muted for 1 hour without any warning, just for a single word, in a single sentence. This is a problem because we should keep in mind that the players are humans, and humans do get angry sometimes or end forgeting that they should not swear, so getting muted for 1 hour for such thing without any warning is exagerated and wrong. Also needing to add that the game itself does have a filter for such thing. The second problem surprised me today when I was trying to talk on EN2, which is the server I've been playing for a long time, and the server where my tribe plays on. "You are not authorized to speak on this server.", says the game. This is because I'm actually brazilian, and when I started playing Transformice again, I decided to play on EN2, knowing that the brazilian server is not that good (which I'm going to talk later). Since that day, I've been talking with everyone in english (because I understand this is an "english only" server) and I've been also helping my tribe as usual, and then today I get to remember that brazilians are not allowed to speak on this server by reading this. This is another big problem, and even thought I highly understand how bad the BR community is, I do understand this is not the correct way to fix this problem. By not allowing brazilians to talk on other servers, you are automatically also ruining the game for people who didn't do anything, people who simply prefer to stay on EN2 because they have this option and they know english, or because they participate or own a tribe in which the community plays on EN2, or/and many other things. And the problem with the BR server could be solved with more moderators, even thought it's not easy to have a lot of moderators on the game. For now, that's about it. I'm typing this for my entire tribe and we hope you guys understand how we (and a portion of the community) feel about this. We also do understand that it is hard to control the game and take decisions about something. |

For the first point: swearing is allowed in this game, just as long as it's not excessive and not too vulgar depending on some words(?). I'm pretty sure the staff do warn before muting in some cases depending on how bad the situation is or if they never had any related priors. |

Sadly I don't think that happens, many people got muted over one word/sentence swearing, and this including me and some people from my tribe. |

All of the times I have been muted (which is only 3) I have never been warned first, just an instant mute. |

Gerottinho a dit : It does that because before en2 came we English players had to go on international it was extremely Unfair since other servers have their own community. But in cases that you can type fluent English, then I think players like that can play. Also Japan has their community that don't allow 'tourists' so the only people that can speak on there is the people who live in japan. And also, it would be annoying if chat was filled with different languages on en only server. And be would most likely also Ruin En2 server if tfm allows them be and other communities to come. There is enough spam and swearing and US en2 players don't need more of it. [Sentinel] Double post(s) merged. Please do not double post. Use the edit button if you wish to add something to your previous post. Grracie a dit : Maby the language was too deep/not acceptable for whoever banned you Dernière modification le 1429309080000 |

As for your second point: I can't remember how the filter works on the E2 community, but going by this oldish thread, it might be a bug that's back? Or things probably changed since then. not the same oops Dernière modification le 1429312500000 |

Gerottinho a dit : Since there is a way of invisibly muting users, you don't know if they've received a 0h warning mute. So it's unfair of you to pass judgment. Also keep in mind that some swears are more intense than others, and if they're doing it in excess then it's 1h. And yes, as has been detailed swearing is fine. This community is PG-13 and PG-13 does include swearing. Dracoleaf a dit : No, BR is not permitted to speak on E2 at all nor have they been, due to the spam of other users from it. I understand how difficult it is if you do actually speak English, but you can thank the majority of the Brazilian community for causing the issue. :/ angelaffff a dit : It's not that "tourists aren't allowed," it's because weeaboos that only know "onee-chan kawaii desu!!" will go to JP and try to speak using Google Translate, which is incredibly annoying and alienating to JP players. |

@Angelaffff So far all I have seem about EN2 is that it is a server where you must speak english, and I always did that. About the spamming part, that's why we have mods, I don't think that it should block everyone and make it unfair for half the people just because you think that the other half will do something bad, understand it? Also, Grracie got muted for using the word "ni**a" but instead of using G, using Q. Is that really worth mute? I think that's just a bit too much, if it's not even the next word, and just because of changes on 2 letters, moderators actually consider this being racist. |

Racism is racism, and that term is considered racist regardless of how it's spelled. |

Ah ok, so for saying the word "niqqa" not directed toward anyone, just saying it randomly in the chat I am considered being racist and get a 3 hour mute. Seems unfair to me. |

Since you were only muted, you're free to type /mod and whisper any online moderator. You can also check the ban appeals tab here. |

@Haruhitastic I say that for me and tribe members, which said on the tribe chat that they got muted. I also know that some swears are more intense than others. |

I admit the fact you couldn't talk on the EN2 server is frustrating, but as you said above, BR community is well known for some bad reasons. Nevertheless I think that's unfair because the very image we have of this community is general. Maybe admins should make a "questionnaire" or something similar to see how good you are in english (or in any other language) and then disable this feature on the aforsaid server. edit: and staff would deal with those questionnaires Dernière modification le 1429310280000 |

It used to be that you could talk on E2 after x cheese gathered, but then public accounts began being a thing really hot and heavy and removed that nice loophole. :/ |

Just today I saw somebody getting a 0 hour mute, so a warning, instead of being muted directly. |

Slurs aren't tolerated. It's the way on the forums and it's the same in game. Whether it's directed at anyone or not, it is offensive. If we permitted things like purposeful misspellings, then people can just spam it in place of the actual word, similar to how the word fig was used some time ago on the forums. I don't/can't know your mutes but you should discuss them with a mod in game, particularly right when they occur. Not a moderator so I can't really comment on the language but I do see warnings. I also do not understand the filter lol. Dernière modification le 1429313820000 |

Gerottinho a dit : I'm sorry, but how is that "ruining the game" for anyone? Maybe it's because I usually stay fairly quiet but I don't understand how not being able to talk in public chat could ruin the whole game for someone. If you want to chat with english speakers you can play on EN. If that's not good enough quite frankly you're asking for too much in my opinion. Someone in Brazil who knows Polish and wishes to speak on PL does not have the luxury of a second server in which everyone is allowed to speak. Have you tried asking your friends to play on EN with you? Dernière modification le 1429316700000 |

@Veralidaine (sorry for the late reply) my biggest problem is that Transformice is getting to block me from talk there for no reason at all, even though people from my community did something, I was not one of them. What actually ruins the game is not exactly all about not being able to talk but seeing that you are not able to talk for no good reason. It's like if you were playing on a room, one person in the room starts spamming and you also get muted, just because you're from the same community. But I hope that Atelier801 thinks about this, for now I'll not play Transformice because I'm starting with the Japanese language. If you wish to say anything else, send me a PM. Thank you all for joining the discussion! (Please lock the conversation if possible) |

i lol'd when i read this. Someone thinking a mute was excessive for a word without context, and then admitting that word was one of the most unnacceptable, oldest, offensive racial slurs there is :P doesn't matter if your rap music or your crude peers make you think this is acceptable, it's not |
