I don't know where this post belongs, if there is a complaints thread, or if i should be filling out a contact form for no one to read at all. uGH.

I am getting so sick and tired of moderators on TFM and I know I am not the only one. Yes, I understand moderators are busy, yes I understand there are over 100k players on tfm at a time occasionally, but being OBVIOUSLY irresponsible about situations is unforgivable.





I contacted over 5 moderators ( until finally 1 out of 5 of those moderators decided to respond. This situation was pretty alarming seeing there were a hand full of moderators available and most of them without their whispers disabled ( wow, amazing... ) but, not one of them could take two minutes to look at my message? Oh wait, momokolee actually did spot my message and instead of responding with a simple "Thanks, I'll take a look at it," she goes and slams the door in my face with ">Momokolee has disabled whispers."

Ugh... I dont know... I try really hard to have faith in the in-game moderator staff and do my best to defend them when people call them relatively useless, but situations like this just make me so upset. It took over an hour and me personally contacting several moderators to get nary a repsonse or this situation to be cleared up... I don't think it should have taken that much effort and that much time. If there is a place for me to make a formal complaint that would be great.. Because, I have drawn the line at this. I am so upset with the Transformice in-game staff...

I can see this from both points of view. A while ago, a BR mod posted a .gif of his chat being spammed (I might try to contact him for it) by whispers, a lot of it just simply "hi mod" or "help me get relics." Yuloff and iirc Sythpol are both Spanish mods, and ES is one of the bigger communities so they get even more
It's possible she didn't see the whispers at all and was silencing because she was afk.

On the other hand, I can see how annoying this must be. In game/in chat is one thing, because it goes away after a while. But on the cafe everyone will post and yammer and bump it up.

All in all however, the cafe just needs a god damned proper report system. That's all. A small report button that'll send to the report system so arbs can more properly handle the cafe, since all arbs can do is ban for two hours and mute people.

I hear that messages and topics will be deleted if the dislike count falls too low, albeit by then most mice have already saw it and it would have been hours/days before it would be taken down such as the Nepal discussion in EN.

I think you should keep your faith in the moderation team as they are only trying their best.I can imagine them being spammed on countless occasions with the usual ''MAkE me a mod!!!!!1'' ''U BANNED ME FOR UNFAIR REASON'' and so on. Especially with the amount of spam on the cafe now thanks to the handy election feature, I think they might as well be over-run as it is. *Purely speculation*

Pretty sure that's broke. I know of a post that had like 40 dislikes and was still around lol.

Then again, The Nepal one was around 100 dislikes...Big enough for people to take notice. I suppose 40 was pretty shallow as people on the cafe usually dislike anything they see, haha.

because i am aware that if a topic gets to 15 dislikes it will be removed automatically ive seen it happen a few times recently though in the past i have seen topics with many dislikes and still living

situations like this shouldn't just be ignored, hun. this isn't some petty hate thread or troll attempt, it is (probably) one minor peddling smut to another minor. this isn't just disgusting it's a federal offense and enabling attitudes like this do not help. if you are not part of the solution you are part of the problem...

that mod is always in silent mode, and dont care about tribunal reports

firstly, i'm sorry your report wasn't handled quickly. we don't intentionally ignore players, but the amount of whispers we receive is unthinkable sometimes. i understand how frustrating this is for you, and believe me, we wish we were more available to you, but there are so few of us and so many of you.

i can understand how you view this; more specifically, you have the mods tabbed out and it can seem like it's one:one conversation, but the mods have many whispers, and you're one person verses many others. they were likely already handling reports when you whispered or they could have been away.

i can assure you momo didn't silence whispers in spite of you, although it can seem like she saw your report and just silenced, i can assure you it's not the case. she likely was not around her game/afk and silenced her whispers so that players wouldn't think they were being ignored.

about silence. for me personally, i use silence if i'm afk, going through /reported players, or in a bad mood and don't want to deal with people, or if i'm playing and don't want to do reports. it's unfair for me to leave my whispers on and ignore all the whispers, so i use silence to show that i am currently away and/or can't help you at the moment. so, long story short, i'm unreachable.

we are trying to figure out a way to moderate cafe more efficiently now. the cafe and behaviour on it is something we are aware of and do want to fix. many communitties have issues w/ private servers being spammed/listed, or porn posted, or insults. we are working with the admins to make cafe a better experience for you guys.

we are understaffed and working on hiring more staff. it's a long process, taking months at a time. i hope we are able to announce new mods in the upcoming months, and hopefully it will help us to be able to be there for you more. we are mods because we want to help the community, we want to keep it safe and clean of things like this, this being said, thank you for reporting it when you saw it, and i hope if it happens again we are able to respond sooner / quicker.

i'm not trying to make excuses for things we have missed or seem to have ignored, but i just want to help you see it from our side.



you can message the admins to discuss the situation at www.transformice.com/contact , however there isn't much that can be done in my opinion. simply put, the only problem here is that you were unfortunately unable to contact any mods during a time when you needed them.

Here's pretty much a poll-ish... why not have an option for certain mods & sentinels to permanently ban users by banning their IP/Proxy like this:

I think Secretive has summed up everything that needs to be said about this thread, there's not much that can be done about it, but the moderation team is trying their hardest and aren't just outright ignoring issues.
