Co-Shaman

Just like pilots need co-pilots, some shamans need a co-shaman. What are they? What do they do? How do I become one?

Co-shamans are a sub shaman whose main concern is to help the main shaman.

What can Co-Shamans do?

  • Build using any nail (red, yellow, blue, etc.) **for shamans in divine mode, I'm not sure if some of the nails should change, aka no red nails.
  • They can use anvils
  • They can use balloons
  • They will have their own skill trees that can be used to benefit the shaman.

What can't Co-Shamans do?

  • They cannot use cannons
  • They cannot use teleports
  • They cannot use spirit
  • They do not have any "regular shaman" skills activated. (No wings, no shaman teleports, no revives, etc.)
  • They cannot use ice

What are the requirements to be a Co-Shaman?

  • Must be level 70+
  • Have 25k regular saves, 15k hardmode saves, and 7k divine mode saves

----------------------

Extra information

  • Co-shamans do not apply to dual shaman maps
  • Co-shamans do not apply for conjuration maps
  • Co-shamans can apply for teleportation maps, but they can only build to help the main shaman, not use teleports
  • Co-shamans can apply to soulmate maps
  • Co-shamans are only available in regular rooms or vanilla rooms (#utility rooms should have the options to have co-shaman in their commands, for practice and such)
  • Co-shamans will have their own "leveling" system that would come with their own skill trees
  • If you dont want a co-shaman to help you, kill them. I mean, they can't dodge your cannons or shoot cannons... :D
  • You become a co-shaman if you are the second person on the top of the list, and if a map shows up that a co-shaman applies to. **After they finish their co-shaman round they automatically are the next shaman.
  • The saves are only counted towards the "main shamans" save count in their chosen mode. Co-shamans should have a separate saving system THE SAVES WILL NOT COUNT TOWARDS THEIR OVERALL SAVES.
  • If there is a map that can have a co-shaman, but the second person on the list does not meet requirements to be a co-shaman, then there will be no co-shaman for the map
  • Regular Shamans will not have a "summon co-shaman" or a separate skill tree for co-shamans.

Questions I still have

  • How should the leveling system work vs leveling as a regular shaman?
  • Should there be an opt-in or opt-out option for people who don't want to be co-shamans even if they qualify?
  • Can co-shamans use totems?
  • Should co-shamans have their own feather colors/different tattoo types?
  • Should co-shamans have their own modes? (This would be a huge advancement that wouldn't come out intil co-shamans are even a thing in the game. By modes I mean like Easy, Hard, Divine.)

Questions others had

  • Should there be an option for regular shamans (at higher levels) to turn co-shamans on/off? (Asked by Erabos)
  • Should cheese count for co-shamans? (Asked by Lucycat) I think yes. Either personally gathered in co-shaman stats (which would make most sense), or in total gathered cheese.
  • Should they get exp added for gathered cheese? (Asked by Lucycat) In order to level up as a co-shaman, I think it would make more sense to use saves from that round for their exp.

-------------------
Thank you so much for reading my post!
Please post your opinions, questions, and thoughts on this idea. The more questions the better! I want to try and be as detailed as possible on the idea of having co-shamans. Are there any other points you think need to be added? Let me know!

Note: I'm still building up a skill tree for co-shamans. If this gets positive reviews, I will consider adding it later in time :)

pretty sure you meant 15k hardmode saves :^)

extra information section was sort of confusing so uh questions
- how exactly are the co-shamans 'spawned'? do they apply? is there something to 'summon' them? do they just appear on the map if it allows co-shamaning?
- is there an option to disable co-shamans?

Haha I will make that change. And I already have the question if people should choose to be a co-shaman if they apply.

  • And to answer some other questions you had (these were in the extra info)

  • Sorry that it was a bit confusing in the extra info area, what do you think would help it be more organized? :)

Well thought out mom! This would help tonnes of newbies out there, including me. 8)

There should also be an option to disable/enable co-shamans for your own shaman turn.

I really like this idea, never thought about it before!

Here are my opinions when it comes to your questions:

    Momorain a dit :
How should the leveling system work vs leveling as a regular shaman?

I feel the main shaman should get all the exp as when they aren't using a co-sham. Considering every mouse under the main shaman in the point list isn't always going to be lvl 70+ or have the other requirements, so co-shaman won't seem "over-used". The co-shaman picked may not even be helpful, so yeah!

    Momorain a dit :
Should there be an opt-in or opt-out option for people who don't want to be co-shamans even if they qualify?

I like to think of it being the same as Dual and Co-op maps, people don't wanna be shaman with another person, but they are chosen anyway!

    Momorain a dit :
    Can co-shamans use totems?

I feel they shouldn't, it seems to fit into the category of the other items they cannot use. Like what if their totem contains cannons?

    Momorain a dit :
Should co-shamans have their own feather colors/different tattoo types?

    I don't see why they can't!

    Momorain a dit :
Should co-shamans have their own modes?

Again, I don't see why not. *compares to the dual and co-op maps and how each shaman uses their own modes*

    More opinions/ideas/questions:
Co-shamans should only be applied to P4(shaman maps) and vanilla maps. In any other map category a co-shaman seems unneeded?

Co-shamans should have all their skills disabled.

I feel since there won't be a skill to call a co-shaman, the main sham could call them by using the...I'm not sure what it's called but when you press the F key the signs come up and one could be like "Help!".

    Momorain a dit :
Co-shamans will have their own "leveling" system that would come with their own skill trees

I'm curious what you mean by "leveling". If you mean exp, I disagree since they'd sham next round. :0

I also really love the idea of having Co-Shaman stats in the profile.

Should cheese count for Co-shamans? Would it be cheese personally gathered or gathered cheese? Should they get exp for the cheese collected?

Again, I really love this idea. ^^

Thanks Era~ Although I think it should be an automatic thing. Maybe for higher level shamans, they could have the option to not have a co-shaman for their round. But lower level shamans should be required for it! (Sounds like another cool idea.)

To answer that, I was thinking about co-shamans having their own levels like regular shamans do. It wouldn't count towards their "regular shaman" exp. if that's what you were wondering :P
    Lucycat a dit :

Those are really good questions! (Also thanks for your opinions on my questions!)
    Lucycat a dit :
Co-shamans should have all their skills disabled.

Yes, I do have a point up there that says they cannot use their regular shamming skills. I was thinking more of developing co-shaman skills which would be separate. But that's considering if this would even become a thing. That would be amazing though! Thanks for your input :)

The level 70+ and the 25k 15k idk what k but they're impossible for newbies and people who quit for a long time (like me)... And wings are not regular skills, its from a skill tree

This is sort of the point of the suggestion; this is to help shamans that require help, the requirements are there to make sure that they know what they're doing. They can always be tweaked but they seem fine as is.

    a dit :
Co-shamans will have their own "leveling" system that would come with their own skill trees

As for 'regular skills', she means any skills available in the skill trees.

I made it high requirements because co-shamans are supposed to help the main shamans. Usually the higher the level/saves the better they are with the gameplay. Newbies would not be very effecient co-shamans lol (they would probably make things worse.) I agree it would be hard for people who have quit then come back to meet those requirements. To be honest I don't even meet the hardmode requirements yet lol. But working for it, in my opinion, would be well worth it!
