Personal opinion, I do believe this is something urgent at this point, as it continues to get worse and worse with all these problematic accounts.
People now, when they hear about it, are like 'Oh great now I'm never going to get my account back...' or something similar involving disappointment. Their perspective should be changed as it is about the reputation of this game and how well it is run.

For one, I ecounter a lot of people that ask for an email change and don't get the chance to actually change it in order to protect their account.
  • I'm aware there's no such thing as hacking an account, but anything can happen: people forget, people trust their 'best friends' and maybe they're the one to blame, but they at least should have a fair shot at repairing the damage they have done.
  • I know there must be hundreds of messages sent every day and it's a pain in the butt to look through them all, especially since most of them are unintelligible for the fact that not many speak English fluently and have to use a translator which, of course, is not even near good. This is something else that has to be improved and comes at the same time with the main idea.
  • I also know there are public accounts or persons that try to steal what's not truthfully theirs by promising something they won't even do - phising, tricking - but this is where the IP check interferes.

What am I suggesting?
Improving the contact form, in my vision, includes a lot of steps:

  • The link to the contact form should somehow be implemented in the game, alongside the help button which has been removed. (Why? Trust me, I have seen people not knowing how to copy paste a link, let alone complete then a form in a language they don't truly know, because that's what you have to do if you're not EN.)
  • It should be available in each single language that at least have a few mods (you'll see why) to take care of the server. All languages vs English, French, Portuguese and Turkish from now.
  • Then, everyone should be compelled to connect an email to their account, the second they log-in for the first time, or in this case if it gets impemented, the second they log in. And more than that, I have seen this idea in Steam. Once you connect from another PC, it sends a code to your email just to verify your identity. It takes some time, I'll give you that, but it's effective. This is more than a must. I don't think it would be a problem: how many times do you change your windows, PC or go visit someone that has internet connection and you decide to play TFM there? People could understand.
  • Every request should be forwarded to the moderators of each server as they understand the language more than well and can deal with the persons even by whispering. Months of training should form a base of trust, so yeah. No, they won't have the absolute power of changing the email adress.
  • Now that I mentioned the availability in each language, I was thinking of putting mods, say 10 - it doesn't matter from what server, to verify the credibility of the request with the IP check (I chose 10 so the result could be absolutely 100% true, I'm not implying anything, just taking precautions.) And once that is done, it would be their job to forward the outcome to Zou, or to whom is available to, lastly, change the email.

It's up to the admins how are they going to build this, if the button redirects people strictly to their server form, or if they will have to mention their server as they begin to write their request. If they want to implement a series of questions just to make sure even more, that could be something.
/// I forgot though. It shouldn't resume only to the Email category problem, but to all the categories.
//// This is somehow related to what I have written since I had seen before that the email server was down for a long time in the past...
It would be a helluva easier way to deal with all these account problems, and I don't think I'm the only one who sees it that way.
Also, this is all I could find that's related to my idea, and it's pretty much forgotten.

well I love this idea! I see how much time and research you put into this and I hope it was worth it. You, my friend, did a great job this on creating this topic. It's indeed something they definitely have to improve if they don't want to lose too many players. I hope the mods will see this post soon and actually do something about it instead of just saying "Ok we'll add that to our 'to-do' list" because that might take ages.
