I've noticed TFM doesn't do this.And its pretty frustrating,thinking that you would dodge a cannon,but too bad!The hitbox stays the same time mostly forever,even when mice are on top of you(with collision on).This would be a pretty nice feature especially for Survivor. |

./debug Considering theres 2 random poses, only one would actually have much affect changing its size. Looks like it could be based off(or is...idk), Box2D(2d physics engine). From my experience, youd have to destroy the current shape and recreate it with its new size/shape. So, destroy the normal circle, create an odd shape to fit, then when the player releases the key, destroy the new shape, and create the normal circle again. Seeing either, a lot of lag and/or unnecessary code, for such little difference and use. Also, cannons are like the same size, going pretty fast... Would someone even be able to effectively dodge that by ducking :P |

Though I actually like the idea but like what lemo said, it is hard to implement Box2D cant skew a circle, if you want to change the shape or size you need to recreate a new 'body'. because the engine has no idea how the surfaces involved are moving it's going ,it will cause the collision to act a little weird. Even if it is possible, the controls would not be very responsive. |

I actually think this would be a nice idea to implement that'd add a lot of gameplay. It wouldn't be too hard and although it may seem like recreating shapes a lot would be laggy, it really wouldn't considering how much Transformice already has going on and how simple 2D shapes are to create. Since mice can't run left or right while they're ducking, having a different collision box when ducking means you could fit through smaller areas and open up a lot of possibility for different gameplay, teamwork (having other mice push you through a small gap), etc. that I think would be great. That said, since it's 5 years into Transformice's game I think it would end up interfering with a lot of existing maps, so it'd need to be done with that in mind. |
