Well, go to your friendslist, click on their username and hit "spectate"!

There you will be able to talk in the room chat but you will not actually be there. (Your mouse will not appear and you will not receive the No cheese for you! ^_^ message nor will you receive Exp)

This is absolutely ridiculous and not needed lol. Why can't you just actually sit there and talk in the chat, but not move??
The "No cheese for you! ^_^" message could get a little annoying, I guess, but only if it spams your chat, which wouldn't really happen if you continued chatting with your friends.

I do not support with this suggestion,but,as I have experienced many,many times,if you just stay afk for too long,you will be kicked.I do not know if this is the same thing happening even when you're chatting,because then,technically,you aren't 'afk'.But just for the record,

But then again, stalkers!

Because you can only follow a person if you and they are friends,but if you are only friends with them,you cannot follow.And stalking is gonna be quite annoying for the player you are spectating.
