Tribunal Modification |

Inb4 there is already a thread for this, but I did check the suggestions lists and couldn't spot anything similar. First, my suggestion for the tl;dr: As a previous mod, I know what the report system looks like and a very simple fix to this mess would be to make it so that if there are enough up-votes via the tribunal system, that particular player's report bubbles up to the top of the mod's report list and acts as another form of karma, in a manner of speaking. Another way to phrase it would be that with enough up-votes, the report gains more weight than other reports for the report system. A brief history for those who weren't around back in the day: The /ban command that is now used to remove players from rooms was first able to actually ban a player from the game entirely if enough room votes were received. This was abused incredibly often by raids of players and caused a lot of problems. The next iteration, if my memory serves, was that it still kicked someone from the game for an hour, but only a certain number of votes counted / tribe (as far as I know, the tribe limit is still in effect). Now, we know /ban to only remove a player from the given room. My point to referencing the /ban feature is that it turned into an easily abused player command to remove someone from the game without a valid reason... so goes the same with the tribunal system now. With the current setup, it appears that once you've been reported for something (maybe just hacking?) and enough random, anonymous, apathetic players vote that you're "hacking" or whatnot, you then get banned from the game for 1 hour for "Suspicious Activity". This takes us back to allowing a mob of regular players to ban other players without proper cause... just like /ban. I have also heard that there may be groups (raids) of players going into tribunal and just up-voting every reported hack to get players banned for the sheer pleasure in knowing that they got players banned (for the lulz, some might say... heh, and inb4 'Trolling is a part of the game'). For the record, yes... this happened to me last week while I was idling in a public room waiting for the next fishing event map while not even paying attention to the game. As I'm sure many others have done, I sat there looking at my screen in disbelief and was informed that there was nothing a mod could do about unbanning me because they were not in the room to confirm that I wasn't hacking. Though I don't blame them for their policy of not unbanning players due to tribunal bans (assuming that's how it is across the board and there is never any favoritism ;)), I'll be honest in saying that I was annoyed and a bit insulted. Transformice runs rampant with players that enjoy trolling / griefing others along with many players who have absolutely no idea what actual hacking looks like in the game. That said, I am of the opinion that regular players should not be allowed to deny access to the game for other players via any command or system. Dernière modification le 1437147180000 |

a dit : Nah, that's not trolling. It'd be a form of ban abuse imo. I don't know why the actual hell tribunal is now banning players. I was left with the impression this is how it used to work, but Tig or someone got a wild hair up their ass and set it up to ban. And that, by far, is the dumbest idea ever; because of what you said. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out who someone is in tribunal. All in all, if they don't remove the bans, it needs to be removed itself. I don't think it really helps mods much and if it does, it's doing far more harm than good. |

As far as I've seen (30 minutes of tribunal today after a long time), there wasn't a single player that was using "clearly" hack. So having all these "false report" could bring many players to ban someone because he's too good to be real (in their opinion) I'd prefer Tibal's idea instead of some form of autoban that could indeed be abused. |

The tribunal was implemented to put some pressure off moderators dealing with reports, however it seems the system is missing its goal. I don't see the point in the suggested changes because that would defeat the whole purpose of the tribunal. I'd say it's better to remove the system entirely. |

Anythin a dit : I wouldn't disagree with that option either. |

I agree with Tibal and if his changes aren't implemented exactly, there needs to be some changes made with Tribunal. |

Anythin a dit : And the fact that people troll on it and say everyone is hacking, it's unbelieveable. |

Nah, it's not so much they're trolling tribunal, but it's more two things:

Anythin a dit : agreed another issue is actual hackers get banned for just one hour, like really that's underbanning for a serious rule break. along with the issue of the buttons, the point behind them being randomized each time is that so players can't spam guilty, but really they just have to move their cursor over 50 - 100 pixels, it's not that hard, however for players new to tribunal it's easy to misclick and vote guilty Haruhitastic a dit : Actually that's not so much the case, take Facebook for example, (I'm not sure if they still have this sytem btw but I know they at least used to if they don't already) on Facebook if a certain number of players report a post it gets deleted, because of this there are literally groups dedicated to removing post that go against their political cause, in which they mass report a post to get it removed, I wouldn't doubt there are people here who form groups to mass "troll" the Tribunal, because I know there are people in the game who form groups to harrass players. |

I've no doubt that's happening but you also can't tell me it's the majority of reports coming in lol. |
