Ever wanted a silent room w/out ignoring anybody? That's why we should have the option to do this.
Silence Mode is exactly what it's called, no one in the room will be able to chat on your screen. The only things that will appear in the chat will be tribe chat, whispers, and notifications. You will be able to use commands in this mode, of course.

If you try to type in a public message, instead a notification will appear "You currently on silent mode on!"

I'm assuming this means, and I think you should clarify this in your post if I'm correct:
It only silences the room's chat. Tribe chat and whispers still appear, because there are /tc and /silence or /silence* commands if people want to turn those separate chats off.

Yes, notifications will appear. You can also use commands.
