Who Has the Control? Mapcrew, or Map Makers? |

So a while ago I was talking with someone in a room, when we started talking about the Mapcrew, and joked that the Map Makers are really the ones that control them. But this was more of a joke, however, I think this is a interesting idea. Who do you think controls the playing field on maps? The people who make the maps? Or the people who judge the maps? See it's rather interesting, if you made a map that get permed, you can actually have it removed, and you don't even really need a reason. This could be an example of how the Map Makers, control the Mapcrew. However of course the Mapcrew are the ones who decide which maps even appear in public, so it could be said that they are the ones who have power over everything, then again, most of the Mapcrew are only moderate Map Makers, and without larger, much better Map Makers, things just wouldn't act the same. I personally think one's power cannot exist without the others. Neither one is really has a greater sense of control over the other, for if the Mapcrew stopped doing their job, all Map Makers would be useless, with no goals in mind. Then if the Map Makers never submitted maps, or refused them to be permed, the Mapcrew would have nothing to do. So what do you feel? |

In my opinion it's a one side useful to another situation. One group wouldn't exist without another. If there was no Map makers, there wouldn't be any new maps or the Mapcrew and if there was no Mapcrew, the map makers wouldn't have a reason of making quality maps. In both situations, if any of those 2 groups falls, Transformice might find itself either in always same boring maps or in impossible to complete, trollish and jibberish map mess, where you either insta-cheese or the map just crashes your game. I think both groups are very important and needed to Transformice and hopefully they aren't fighting for control Dernière modification le 1437725280000 |

Of course no one is fighting for control Soni, that'd be pointless lmao, this is just friendly speculation. |

Yeah I know, I just put my thoughts into the discussion with hopes that they aren't fighting a secret war heh, but eitherway I think they are more or less equal in the terms of control Dernière modification le 1437727500000 |

Neither map makers or map crew have control. It's the players that maps are geared towards and their choices will always be put first. |

Shamousey a dit : Exactly my thoughts. Without players to play said maps you wouldn't have a bloody reason to even make them. Mousechris a dit : Is this so? I've only heard of one example of this happening, and it was a special case. If you have more, I'd like to hear this. To be technical, once you submit a map onto A801, A801 are the owners. It's not your map, it's Atelier801's map. E - I had a talk with Killerlux about this on IRC, and apparently it is something they do. However, my point still stands that it's in the ToS -- the moment your map is launched onto A801's server, it is no longer your "property." It is the property of Atelier801. Mousechris a dit : This is the cattiest thing I've ever read. People can still learn about maps over the years? There will never be such a thing as a game without "good map makers." They'll always come from somewhere sooner or later. After all, you personally didn't log into the game was like HURRRR IM GONNA MAKE A MAP WITH MOVING JOINTS on day one. Mousechris a dit : Map crew hasn't always been a thing though? Mods handled maps before, by perming maps that they liked the best and thought worked well. As for "no goals in mind," shouldn't your goal just be to make something enjoyable and have fun? Dernière modification le 1437752220000 |

Shamousey a dit : Interesting proposal, however I disagree, when a map maker makes a map they make it for their likings, when a mapcrew perms it, they also includes if the public even likes it into consideration, but by not much. The public just plays the maps, they have little control over what gets made, or what gets permed, as really what a lot of what the public says is either subjective or biased. |

Mousechris a dit : I'm pretty sure if a map has a lot of complaints about lack of playability or lag then it gets removed. |
