"I can't believe it! I got a VIP Pass!" Lillian cheered triumphantly, holding the plastic card in her hand. She squealed happily and held it to her chest. "I'm going to meet Mikaro Junisci!!!" "Hey, Lillian, are you okay?" A friend of hers asked over Skype. "You sound really hyped." "Of course I'm hyped!" Lillian half-shouted angrily at the laptop, which had a built-in microphone. "All right, all right. Calm down." The boy replied, chuckling. "I refuse." Lillian replied, then burst into laughter. The concert is three days from now. And this is an all-concert VIP pass, too! That means I can talk to him at every concert!

Chapter 1: Meeting My Hero

Lillian could hardly contain her excitement as she entered the concert hall three days after she gloated to Akise about the pass. Sitting on the main stage where Mikaro would be performing was a gorgeous grand piano, polished and ready to be played. Lillian noticed a few people already seated in the audience. I got here early, but I didn't expect so many people already. She thought as she sat down. There was another girl a seat ahead of her who was playing something on a phone. Her attention suddenly traveled from her phone up to the stage. "You're excited, too, huh?" Lillian asked. The girl looked about ready to jump out of her skin. "Yeah.. excited." She muttered in reply. "How long have you been a fan?" Lillian continued, not taking notice of the rather ominous reply. "Just recently." She replied, turning off her phone. "I'm Lillian Amadeus." Lillian introduced with an energetic grin. "I'm Allie Bluestone." Allie replied, just as the lights dimmed to focus on the stage, where Mikaro was seated. With a glance at the audience, he began to play.
To Lillian, it seemed as though Mikaro poured his heart into every key - every beautiful note - he played. From her seat in the fourth row, she hummed quietly to the tunes that she recognized so well. After about two or so hours, the concert ended. Lillian jumped up from her seat, not taking notice of Allie's "Hey, where are you going?" as she went backstage. After quickly showing her pass to the people guarding the door, she entered the backstage area. Mikaro glanced over to where the door's creaking was coming from and saw Lillian. "I'm sorry. I wasn't expecting anyone to visit." Lillian's voice was caught in her throat, but she managed to speak clearly. "I guessed you wouldn't," she replied, "pianists don't get as much attention as major pop stars." Mikaro took off his mask and set it down on a spare piano bench, revealing a black crescent moon shape on his forehead. A tattoo? Probably.
"So, what brings you?" He asked. "Your music," Lillian replied, "it's beautiful." Mikaro smiled faintly. "That's nice to hear. Thank you." He moved his sleeve and checked his watch. "Oh, it's about time for me to go. Sorry that I couldn't talk much." Lillian nodded understandingly, but inside she felt crushed. "Celebrities have busy schedules." She said as Mikaro put the mask back on and left the room. She exited about a minute or two after, through the way she'd come.
I still don't get it... She thought as she left the concert hall and prepared to leave towards home. That look in his eyes... He seemed almost haunted.

Chapter 2: Finding A Meaning

"I don't get it." Akise thought aloud, spinning around in a desk chair in his room, his laptop closed. "Why is she so addicted to that music? There's nothing special about it...." He trailed off with a frustrated sigh and wrapped his scarf around his neck, then took off his headphones and set them on his desk. I'll go for a walk. That might help me think. He decided silently, and left his house.
A little while later, he ended up in the park. He spotted a violinist he recognized from an orchestra he went to once with Lillian. What would a musician be doing in a place like this? He wondered. The man was sitting on the edge of the fountain, a dove resting on his wrist. Akise sat down on the fountain, not neccesarily near him, but close enough to where they could have a conversation if they wanted to. "Excuse me, sir," Akise began, looking towards the musician. "Yes, what is it?" He replied in question, his voice calm and almost soothing. "You performed with Mikaro Junisci, correct?" The man nodded once. "More than once." "There's something about his music, isn't there?" Akise questioned. "Something supernatural." "Why do you ask?" "Lillian - a friend of mine - and countless other people I know are completely head-over-heels for Mikaro and his music. I can't see why. Then I remembered an event in my past with supernatural occurances and wondered if that was the case here."
A rather long moment of silence passed. "Yes." The violinist replied suddenly. "Yes, there are supernatural occurances going on." "There are?" Akise questioned in reply, curious. "Yes. His music somehow... it's enchanting. But with a good effect, there's a price. That I haven't figured out yet."
Another moment of silence passed between the two. "How do you know?" Akise asked. "About the supernatural occurances. How can you tell?" "I have a fascination with the supernatural. I like to study it, to the point where I can be sure if something is supernatural or isn't." Akise nodded understandingly and checked his watch. "Oh... I better get back home soon. I have school in the morning." "Before you leave, can I get your name?" Akise chuckled. "I guess we haven't introduced ourselves. I'm Akise Arune." "I'm Amaranth Silvercrest. It was nice talking with you." "We should talk more often. Maybe we can figure out everything behind Mikaro." Amaranth nodded. "Indeed."
(About three hours afterwards.)
Amaranth Silvercrest... I can't help but wonder. Is he some sort of supernatural being? No... I'm getting ahead of myself. That's stupid.

Is this fanfiction actually about mice? It seems more like humans than Transformice fanfiction to me. There's no hint towards any Transformice elements, actually there isn't even any references towards these characters being mice. I used Ctrl+F for paw, tail, whisker, and mouse and found absolutely nothing. Actually, mice did come up, but it was Sirusthemice's name that was being shown in yellow.

There are no words about mouse/mice, try it for yourself.
The term people is usually general, but there's no reference to mice so I would assume these are humans.

Chapter 3: Is Something Wrong, Lillian?

Akise got back from school late due to student council activities and cursed silently. I need to talk to Amaranth and Lillian, if nothing else. It's already 5:43. He quickly slipped out of his school clothes and into more casual wear, then sat down and opened up Skype. He called Lillian, who picked up with a cheerful "Hello?" Akise sighed. "Lillian, was anything off about Mikaro when you talked to him the other day?" "Why do you want to know?!" She snapped suddenly, and Akise winced. "I'm curious, is all." He replied calmly, but his fur itched with curiosity and a tad bit of fear. "There was nothing off about him, no." Lillian lied. "He really doesn't talk much, though."
About an hour later Lillian and Akise both got tired of talking and hung up. Why was Lillian so on edge? Akise questioned silently. The only time I've seen her like that is when one of my bullies started tearing pages out of my drawing notebook. Akise pondered the thought for a while, then got up and went for another walk. Not caring where his legs carried him, he ended up at the park where he'd previously met Amaranth. Much to his surprise, Amaranth was seated in the same spot as the previous day. Smiling, he sat down. "It's a surprise to see you here." "I could say the same." Amaranth replied, flicking his tail lightly to brush a leaf off of his arm.
"I asked Lillian if Mikaro had been acting strange or if anything was off. She immediately flared at me - which she's never done before. I'm curious to what made her act that way." Amaranth seemed to ponder the statement. "Something to do with the curse scenario, perhaps. I don't think she'd snap at you over that same question if the curse didn't influence her." "My thoughts exactly." Akise replied, nodding.
The two talked for a while, but neither had really found anything out.
"Do you have a Skype?" Akise asked out of nowhere, his tail curling in embarrassment. "As silly as it seems, yes." Amaranth replied, chuckling lightly. "It's easier to talk that way. I'm not usually home until around four-thirty, though, because I'm in the student council. Sometimes later." Akise explained, writing down his Skype username on a piece of paper in his notepad, then ripped it out and handed it to Amaranth. He handed the notepad and pen to Amaranth, who then proceeded to do the same, and handed the slip of paper along with the notepad and pen back to Akise.
"I'll talk to you if I find anything out." Amaranth promised, and Akise nodded. "Thanks."

Chapter 4: A Concert Alongside Lillian. Getting A Hint?

Lillian was very clearly excited as Akise walked alongside her to the next of Mikaro's concerts, which was taking place in their neighboring state. Lillian didn't have her driver's license yet, so Akise agreed to drive her if she helped him meet Mikaro. She, of course, agreed, thinking that Akise was finally taking a liking to the pianist's music, when in reality he was trying to get a hint to the curse-like properties of the enchanting tunes. Akise ended up meeting Allie, who had also come to the concert. She didn't appeal to him much.
After the concert, Lillian sprinted off again. Allie put her paw to her face and Akise sighed, following her. After a quick explanation to the guard, Akise and Lillian both went backstage, where Mikaro was. Akise immediately noticed the haunted look in his eyes.
"Excuse me, Mr. Junisci," Akise greeted, his voice calm and somewhat frightening. "I'm Akise Arune. It's nice to meet you." Akise's tail curled, as if he were planning something. "I'm going to be blunt about this," Akise started, his eyes angled and dark, "just what does that curse of yours do?" Mikaro froze and twisted his gaze towards Akise. "Curse? You must be imagining thngs." His voice sounded amused, but there was a chill in his eyes. "Akise, stop being stupid." Lillian half-growled, grabbing the older mouse by the arm. Akise pried her off and took a step closer to Mikaro. "Don't try to lie to me. Lillian acting up, that haunted look in your eyes. The fact that you froze when I mentioned the word curse." Akise's eyes were narrowed as he took another step towards the pianist. "Just what does it do? What's the price you have to pay for that glorious effect?" Mikaro was sweating under his mask. He glanced worriedly at Lillian, then forced his gaze back to the teenage mouse that was accusing him. "There is no curse. You're crazy!" He spat, his eyes flicking back and forth for means of escape. "Then why are you so worried?" Akise asked with a calm grin, which froze Lillian. She'd never seen Akise like this.
Suddenly Mikaro bolted out of the room through the curtain. Everyone had already left, other than Allie, Lillian, and Akise. Akise ran after him. As Mikaro approached the doorway, Akise noticed a figure blocking the exit. Amaranth? The thought occured to him as he recognized the tall violinist's shape. Mikaro was breathing heavily, fear and anxiety building up. Allie looked at Akise and Lillian questioningly, then noticed how fearful Mikaro was. What's going on...? Akise stopped behind Mikaro as Amaranth approached him. "Amaranth? Thank the heavens. This kid - he's crazy!" Mikaro panted. Amaranth showed no sign of hearing as he approached the frightened pianist. "He isn't crazy, Junisci." Amaranth's voice sent chills down Lillian's spine. He's just as scary as Akise right now... Allie looked from Amaranth to Lillian, then from Mikaro to Akise. "In fact, we've both reached the same conclusion. There's some kind of curse to your music. However, Akise and I - and that girl seated there, I believe - aren't affected. We're both here to figure out what that curse does, and the price you pay to have such an effect." Mikaro backed away from Amaranth, now visibly afraid. Lillian wanted so badly to help him, but fear kept her rooted to the stage. Allie couldn't believe what she was hearing. A curse? What...?
"Now, Junisci. Tell me. Just what does this curse do? What do you lose, or what did you lose in the past to get this to happen?" Amaranth demanded.

Chapter 5: A Final, Sorrowful Tune

Mikaro was sweating heavily. He knew he couldn't win, and sighed. "I lost my wife and daughters. The curse enchants people so they'll love me and my music." He said, shuddering as he saw the knife in Akise's claws. Akise's eyes were narrowed and vacant. "Selfish trash." He spat, unknowingly slicing his scarf and shredding a piece of it as he raised the knife quickly. His eyes were focused on the blade rather than on Mikaro himself, and even Amaranth was rather startled at this point by Akise's behavior. Akise swiped the knife back down to its position by his side. "Worse yet, we don't have a cure for your little shenanigan." He snarled, his voice cold and edged with icy hatred. "I wonder just how many lives you've ruined." Akise took a step closer, making Mikaro visibly shake. He attempted to scoot away from Akise, but bumped into Amaranth's legs. "Please, don't hurt me!" He wailed. Akise spat a little blood on the ground, revealing that he'd been gritting his teeth so hard that one tooth had broken. "Hurt you? Oh, as if. I'm not looking to get arrested, Junisci. But I don't like the little webs you've spun around my friend and everyone else influenced by your little curse. Your songs are lonely ballads of your cursed soul, and you want everyone to pay attention to you until you die. I hate it. The selfish needs of people like you - who feel they need everyone's attention to be satisfied." Lillian was struggling against Allie's arms, the curse obviously influencing her mind. Allie refused to let her go. Amaranth's eyes were focused on Akise, but he occasionally flitted his gaze to where Lillian was. Right, Akise. We're not here to hurt anyone... maybe for the exception of Junisci. "I need you alive until we find a way to cure this. But I don't want you performing any more songs. If you do-" Akise raised the knife- "...I'm not afraid to take 'precautionary measures.'" A small grin played his face. "This ballad is one that will end happily." Mikaro nodded, quaking with fear. "That isn't fair!" Lillian half wailed, half screeched at Akise as he lowered the knife again. Akise shot her a glare that shut her up quickly. "You may be my friend, but I'm not afraid to hurt you if it means fixing this broken record." He snarled. Allie winced, but continued saying nothing - too shocked and apalled not only from the revealing of a curse being at hand, but Akise's mood swing from his bright, usual curious self to this monster before her. "I'll say it again, Junisci," He said, fixing his gaze back to the mouse on the floor. "You won't play another song until this curse is broken. Until it's lifted from you and everyone around you. And you will help figure out how to fix it."

Chapter 6: Fixing A Broken Record

Akise angrily twitched his tail as his claws tap-tap-tapped away at the keyboard. It'd been three days since they'd confronted Junisci, and the pianist was currently sitting on Akise's bed behind him. Lillian was also with them, though Akise couldn't help but notice she wasn't mooning over Junisci.
After about an hour of working on trying to figure out an answer, Akise told Junisci to stay in his room while he and Lillian went for a walk. They went to the park, where Amaranth was sitting on his usual spot on the fountain and... singing. Beside him was Allie, listening with a joyful expression. Akise and Lillian walked over and sat down.
Lillian suddenly collapsed, bringing Amaranth out of his song. "Is she alright?" He asked, rather startled. Akise nodded, she was only unconscious. "I don't get it. It isn't hot out at all." Allie had dipped a hankerchief in the water and placed it on Lillian's forehead. "Let's get her back to my place. Amaranth, Allie, come with me."
