Well in 6 minutes the 'The connection to the server has been interupted' message came up and i had to log back in. After the 3rd crash, I logged in and I couldn't whisper, click profile, tribe, cafe, anything.

The server could be down which is a very common thing. And usually comes along with the broken whispers/tribes ect.

the CP (aka the thing which related to whispers, tribes, friendlists) takes around 7 mins to reboot after it detects a problem

There was some server issues at the time. Unfortunately, this is becoming a common occurrence.
