As we all know, once we release the jump key we produce a complete jump until its limit. I think it would be interesting to have a setting to stop
jumping; for example, an option enabling us to cancel the jump by releasing its key.

Previous suggestion
Like in another games, we could go jumping each time more high by pressing jump key (or touching).

This will not change the jumping height/limit.

There's already gravity effects, springs, balloons, spirits, ect. Many different ways to get to certain heights. I think this would ruin the game, this is tfm not mario

I'll let you get it:

- While you're pressing the jump key (or touching), you will go jumping X% of jump limit.

1% of the jump limit = a bit of the jump
100% of the jump limit = high/limit

You could jump from 1% to 100%.

Do you mean to fall immediately after you let go? Instead of going the full jump height.
or to jump higher each time you jump?

I think they mean that if you tap the key quickly you will get a small jump, but holding it down makes you jump higher and for longer.

I got confused by the "without changing hight limit" part but i think they mean that the jump we have now, would be the "full" jump you achieve when you hold down the jump button for a while, and the tiny jump you get from just tapping it would be a fraction of that.

I can't support or no support this one, i think it's an interesting idea, but don't bootcamp enough to see how much of a negitive difference it's make.

maybe put it in a module?

I'll try to explain again:

Each time you're pressing jump key, you'll growing your actual Y coor so the limit (jump height). So that you're in the limit of jump (Y), you will be falling.

Actually you can't jump a bit less of that.
Actually you can't control jump.

With that suggestion, you could control your jump height with the jump key or touch key (how I said, the limit will be the limit actual of jump, so where it will go and after be falling).

In true, no. It would go just make you control your jump while pressing the key to jump, so, if you press the jump key in 200 ms, you give a small jump (not longer), if you press it for a second, you may complete the jump and after fall.

If you want to give a quick jump (a jump more less), simply you press the jump key for few milliseconds.

Some maps were designed to jump at a certain distance away from an obstacle to get on it (i.e. chocolate ground plank hangs) to achieve the perfect height. Since the current jump has only one set height, the user needs timing and placement to achieve such an obstacle. With this suggestion, the user would not need both (or even one) of those. I get that other games use that jump height feature, but TFM actually has user-created maps, unlike those other popular games.

Maybe like instead just like we can only do it on certain maps like just like when your making a map there is a setting for mice to to be collison and stuff, maybe there could be a setting where the mice can do your suggestion. Because some maps don't work like that.
