Prioritizing reports based on karma. |

Last I heard, there was no known use for karma in public knowing so this suggestion is to use the karma for something. I suggest a ranking system with 20 karma being the highest karma for a priority report. Karma: 1. xxxxxxx 20 karma 2. xxxxxxx 5 karma In this example, the person with 20 karma will have their report prioritized. However, if a person has more than 20 karma, then they will be prioritized above the person with 20 karma. 1. xxxxxxx 152 karma 2. xxxxxxx 20 karma 3. xxxxxxx 5 karma So in general, the person with the highest karma will be seen as a trustful and honest person and not giving out fake reports that Moderators and Tribunal Users have to weed out constantly. This is just prioritizing reports and so Moderators will not ban immediately on report but after assessing the report. Any fake Bans/Mutes/Reports caught will have the offending user's karma reset to 0 to give a strong incentive to not be dishonest and being objective in their reports (Like reporting a user over skill or "Being a big meany head" vs reporting a user obviously using hacks, or phishing, etc.). Case-by-case situations will arise like users mistaking lag or sync issues for possible hacks but it should reduce the number of fake reports and help good intention reports to not be punished so harshly. Tribunal Users will also watch a mouse with priority reports in case moderators are busy or taking a break from duties. All legitimate reports will add +1 karma equally. Users can use /karma to see their karma total. Maybe we can also use /karma [xxxxxxx] to see other users' karma total and to discourage hackers from being in their room and in the game generally. Pardon if this is what karma is doing or if there is another thread like this. Questions? Comments? Dernière modification le 1448730240000 |

Sounds nice, but the resetting to 0 first go around is highly unfair. Telling hacks can be difficult to some (since it could be lag) and to have your karma reset to 0 just because you thought they were genuinely hacking when they were in fact lagging terribly is just shitty. I'd rather a staggered thing, then if they file too many frivolous reports THEN reset it to 0. |

Yes it is still rough and could use fine tuning. I also said it can be a case-by-case situation since moderators will still have to check reports and the user being reported. Nonetheless, feedback on how to make false reports be less Draconian is welcomed. Staggering will also make more sense because you can really only get +1 karma so if you, say, take off 10 or even 5; that is still relatively a lot of work to rebuild your ranking. Then if you have 100+ karma and you file a report that you thought was hacking, it would really suck if you lost all 100+ when you consider the time frame. So instead of a fixed number it can be a percentage of your karma total so everything is relative to the ranking. It would also help moderation applications with karma totals and it will help the general public on how to discern legitimate hacking and just bad lag/sync. Dernière modification le 1448736360000 |

Interesting but /half support Edit: The idea sounds really nice but I thought to myself that others might misuse this system. I know that your saying that mods and tribunal have a easier way to investigate but shouldn't they doing that in the first place, in tribunal command you can watch the mouse that you report doing what he/she is doing. I could be wrong. Please don't attack me Sorry if my explanation makes no sense... Dernière modification le 1448738460000 |

Is there anything you feel is unjustified besides the above dilemma? I mean, is there anything that warrants a half-support? Dernière modification le 1448736540000 |

Yes people might abuse the system which is why I suggested a penalty for fake reports and Haru providing better feedback on making it less harsh. You can only get karma though if the moderator bans the person for legitimate hacking/phishing/ etc... The whole point of this suggestion is to distinguish the honest and well-intention people from others and making it easier and better to see real hacks/phishing/etc. Even if group of users get together and set up a ring of hackers to report and karma farm, the moderators and tribunal users will still see the priority report and it will be easy just to penalize them. And who really puts that much effort into a mice game anyways? Dernière modification le 1448738460000 |
